So as it’s payday for me, previously I would convince myself that I was going into town for a browse, then fool myself that I was just going to pop into the bookies for a quick £20 on the roulette and walk out 4 hours later, much sadder, no wiser and hundreds of pounds down.
Today I convinced myself that I was just going into town for a browse, walked past 3 bookies without the urge to go in, bought a couple of DVDs and then drove home.
The era of £2 roulette in the bookies has arrived, and I for one welcome it 🙂

Thanks Seedy, it’s like a millstone off of my neck – I don’t why they got me like that, they just did
25th April 2019 at 7:02 pm #62493Happy days man, it’s so refreshing to hear a piece of legislation has actually worked in the intend<span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>ed way</span>
But DVDs man, We’re in the age of unlimited free films online ??
25th April 2019 at 7:06 pm #62495But DVDs man, We’re in the age of unlimited free films onlineYep, got that too, but there is something about a cheap DVD from a charity shop which irresistable.
Only downside is that the lady behind the counter at help the aged gets really angry if you ask if she has any under the counter stuff. 🙂

25th April 2019 at 9:43 pm #62532I’m so glad this is coming in. FOBT’s are still going to be a curse on any gambler that uses them, but at least this may limit the few who go over the top.
We don’t have the laws in N.I yet, but a lot of the major chains have rolled it out as the standard. Hopefully the smaller shops follow suit soon.
Kudos to you sir, and lets hope you continue your abstention for a lot longer.
25th April 2019 at 10:06 pm #62537I played a FOBT today
I put £2 on 11 and within 5spins In landed was soon out of there!
I think its bullshit how it will let you bet more than £2 in chips but you have to risk £2 on a silly bar thing at the side (William hill)
either way fuck the FOBT’S
25th April 2019 at 10:31 pm #62546Im not glad its come in,i guess i am selfish, its because of this online tax has increased so we as online gamblers now get less bonuses and casinos are starting to lower RTPs also to counteract it…the same ppl could just go online and play 20p roulette there but for even bigger stakes, seems pointless.
25th April 2019 at 11:22 pm #62553Dvds ? but we’ll done man. I’ve got to admit I’m finding the whole £2 fobts idea a pain in my arse. I haven’t played them but my gambling chimp inside me really wants to see what it’s like.
So glad it’s all been capped tho as the roulette was what nearly ruined me and made me a compulsive gamberler.
Fuck the fobts
I’m on a nationwide bookies ban now and full Internet casino 5 years ban and last week kwiff got kicked into touch for 5 years. Need to find something that gives the same feeling as losing money while trying to chase a win lol.
Im filling my time with gardening Old before my time ?
26th April 2019 at 12:54 am #62558These days I actually enjoy going to the bookies now and again with a strict £50, or £100 if feeling flush and just sticking to 20p / 50p, feels like actual entertainment rather than chasing
The slots on the William Hill terminals feel a lot more friendly for this than Ladbrokes/Corals though, probably because the Blueprints have random features and quite a lot of different bonuses that they can chuck in
