That’s why I waited before passing judgement. Guy joined around the time of the giveaway, never posts, then clearly wants a handout. And its ironic that they come to a place like this. I mean I’m naive. I’ve never gambled. But you lot can smell bullshit at 100 yards.
I joined around the time of the giveaway because, as I am on gamstop for 5 years, theres not much point in me signing up to join in the other giveaways is there or for any sign up bonuses. I also have no interest in sharing about my latest gambling losses, because I have won SFA.
If you could read you would have noticed the very first thing I wrote was “not a begging thread”…but anyway. The only reason I posted was because I don’t know anyone who gambles so figured someone here might have been in my situation in the past, and might have even found a way out that works. Or does everyone just win win win?! How do these casinos ever make money….
If there wasn’t a 5 year delay between me pressing “Submit Reply” and my message showing up here I might have been able to reply to people a bit sooner.
The trick is to log in before you post moron.

How horrible are you? No matter whether the original contributor is an addicted gambler and/or has a plethora of other lowly qualities or not – you have just shown yourself up as a genuinely nasty person.
15th February 2020 at 9:54 am #91014You guys are being a bit quick to the gun judging this guy. He’s asking for advice because he’s in a near impossible spot to get out of. Yeah I get there’s a lot of beggars on here but that’s no reason to be pricks to him.
As for the OP, I honestly have no idea what your options are regarding this short of bankruptcy if nobody is willing to assist you in remortgaging your home. Yeah it’s not ideal, but gives you the option of a fresh start if you stick with it.
115th February 2020 at 10:29 am #91023I ask that people keep there pitchforks at home please.
As for why Op your post dont come through straight away to begin with is you had never posted before and all new posters go to moderation for a while and simply I’m not here 24 hours a day.
15th February 2020 at 10:50 am #91026In the first post there is a mention of using friends and families account to gamble with yet in the second post there is a quote saying i don’t know anyone who gambles. A complete contradiction. So why should we give this guy any sympathy. He stole off his own mother. Took months off work where he is on 50k a year. Come on really? I also wonder how he lost his driving licence? My advice get your head in work. Graft like mad and get your debts paid. If he’s on 50k a year yet says an 18k loan would pay off his immediate debts you can’t tell me he can’t pay that 18k off out of his wages. Wake up people.
115th February 2020 at 10:56 am #91027Sorry 1st and 3rd post. I used friends and families accounts and then i don’t know anyone who gambles.

Surely you can deduce from that statement that it means I have opened additional accounts in other peoples names who weren’t using them for themselves. In fact a big problem I had stemmed from winning 2k on one site a couple months back (after already pumping 3k in over a serious of 200 deposits, you never actually win….) I then pumped 2k into another site thinking at least I had that 2k coming back….but they won’t release the money until a “source of wealth” is completed…which on my sons account simply isn’t possible he has no source of wealth and the money came from my paypal to his, and as I’m gamstopped we can’t exactly say where the money was coming from, I lost the other 2k in record time (new site, not lost enough to get a payback) so that was 5k gone I can’t afford to lose (this all started as a deposit of 100, cash out of 300, reverse withdraw and ongoing chase back of losses, bit like your man here, just I don’t have unlimited funds) Add to that out of pocket about 9k when not working, I have had to borrow bits of money here there and everywhere just to try and scrape by, which other people have had to borrow on my behalf from payday loans, the amount of interest I have to pay back is more than what the monthly repyament on a 20k loan would be….and once you lose all that money in a month your back to a place where you need to borrow again (life actually costs money when you don’t sit at home all day watching youtube videos)….it’s a never ending cycle and it makes absolutely zero sense when a bank loan could cover all the money I need to pay out, and give me an affordable way out…the bank also make a little money out in the process in interest. Anyway, if most people here hate gamblers and gambling so much, errr…..maybe I got the impression somehow this was a site that promotes gambling? Anyway, next time you hit a big score, remember its mugs like me who’s life got destroyed to fund your nice little win. Do you think if there were no losers you’d still be winning?

I knew that would be the case, but seems most folk here can’t put 2 and 2 together…..

I had a little sympathy for your situation at various points until you said the nonsense I quoted above.
I gambled, lost money and got into debt. You have to deal with it. Stepchange were helpful, I’m paying off what I owe and still have a little left to enjoy life without gambling.
At no point during my losses did I think my life had been destroyed each time someone else won big. I didn’t blame other people. You simply cannot blame others for what’s happened. The first step in this journey is most definitely acceptance. Accept that it’s your fault and that it’s up to you to find a solution, especially as the banks won’t help.
I would imagine that people don’t necessarily believe you because your posts are very elaborate and seem to have an excuse for everything that’s happened.
Obviously people here hope that you sort yourself out and it all ends well for you.

People on here will be sympathetic and try and help me included but when you posts comments saying you wanted an 18k loan to pay off your immediate debts and have a bit to play with. Gees does the position you are in not sunk in yet and you still want money left over to play with. I was in a bad position last year and you know what i did. I wrote to my creditors i asked them to freeze any interest. To lower my monthly payments and you know the most important thing i did after 30 years STOP GAMBLING. I was stressed i didn’t stop work. Infact i worked even harder.
15th February 2020 at 2:25 pm #91038Wrong. U don’t acknowledge the debt. You wait till a ccj drops through your door. The ccj only lasts 6 years. You ‘vary the judgement’ with the court and offer to pay £1 per month.. you only pay a ccj for 6 years.. you don’t contact any debt collectors or pay any money unless a ccj is issued. Read the post again. Worked for me and debt free
15th February 2020 at 2:26 pm #91039That is the worst advice I’ve ever heard from lainey87. For starters once you acknowledge the debt it is impossible for the debt to become statute barred. You have entered into an agreement by paying £1 a month therefore keeping the debt alive until either you die or you have paid the debt off. Ignoring letting and calls risks baliffs coming to your house. Even if the goods in your house are not yours they can still be removed if the rightful owner has no receipts or proof of ownership. Work with the companies you owe. They will understand and by law your priority bills must be paid first. Rent/mortgage council tax etc. You will be probably asked to complete an income and expenditure form to see what you can afford to repay. Don’t leave yourself short and remember if you ever have the opportunity to repay the debt in one payment most debt companies will accept up to 75% discount as full and final payment. This will go on your credit report as only partially settled for 6 years. Ignoring debts is the worst thing to do.
Wrong. 15th February 2020 at 2:32 pm #91040I don’t feel sorry for u , because I think there is millions off people who would love to trade places with u 50k year job , home , family . Just sort a payment plan and live off 30k a year . Maybe even 40k a year .
15th February 2020 at 2:41 pm #91041@Iainey87 Not only is it terrible advice, it’s also a horrible attitude. They are his debts (and yours in the past). Why the hell should he not pay at least a good chunk of it off if he can.
If you don’t pay your debts, then somewhere down the line I do. And why the hell should I bear the burden of your stupidity.
Goes to show uve never been in debt. Citizens advice would tell you exactly what I wrote.. non priority debts come last.. ignore them.. plain and simple.. that’s how it works. I have 2 defaults dating back to 2014 of £100 in total which drop off this year. And 5 ccjs totaling to £6k which start to drop off in 2 years. I pay £1 per month to each ccj for 6 years. I’m debt free. That’s how it works.. learn about debt before posting silly things, weather it’s right or wrong that’s how debt works. Hende
