Not at all you are correct in what you say. That being said not everyone is in complete control and realise that they even have a problem. The easy way out is to always blame something or someone else. I think deep down the person probably does know this but just in denial, like you said when you realise its on you thats probably when you can start to progress. With no personal experience and of course everyone is different its impossible for me to say exactly but thats how i view it.

I don’t like the advertising which promotes a false picture, but then again it’s a business, I also detest the way staff in bookies immediately offer to remove the £50 limit to enable you to lose more (that one really pisses me off), but I guess they are probably told they have to do that, pretty much like the poor guy behind the counter at Poundland who has to ask everyone if they want chocolate 1000 times a day.
It has always been my decision, and I understand the sickness aspect but the option is to refuse to serve anyone in case they get addicted thereby penalising many who are in control and enjoy it.
Doesn’t mean I’m not going to laugh my tits off every time a bookies is forced to close over the next 6 months though 🙂
29th March 2019 at 10:10 am #58159Well said, can’t stand the cry babies who blame everyone else but themselves. The absolute worst ones are those who threaten self harm because of losing.
29th March 2019 at 10:27 pm #58327I appreciate the replies, thought I’d get a bit of needle about it, but I had to share my thoughts. I’ve massively fucked up and had my issues but you just need to remember that money isn’t the be all and end all of life.
29th March 2019 at 10:56 pm #58334I agree,The only part that annoys me is way over the top verification sometimes when you actually win after they take thousands off you when losing…besides from that its our own choice/fault if we make financial problems for ourselves.
