People should know by now that I’m more than willing to help anyone when I can, and I know a few others on here have been through a lot and are always willing to help.

I’ve said it before, I really do love this forum and if it only helps one or two people then to me it’s worth it. But people should at least meet you half way.

I made the post because we are going round in circles all the time. You have had contact with him and believe he is genuine, that’s fine. But we still don’t know the full story and all we get is convoluted posts regarding different topics rather than one direct to the point overview.

The advice the forum provides is good. In fact it’s better than good and has helped a lot of people over the last few months who have been in shit situations. It’s very difficult to help someone who won’t follow the guidance. If he just wants to vent to let things out then go for it. But when you ask someone what their opinions are or ask for help, if you dont like the answers dont ignore everyne for a few days then start a completely different topic asking for help on something else.

The lad has been offered guidance, a laptop, a kindle fire and someone offered to clear his debt. I don’t know what anyone else can do

You have to understand that although it may seam people are prying, it’s important for people to understand the whole situation to provide the best guidance. We can only offer help based on the information we are provided; when you trickle bits of information over various threads it’s very difficult to form an unbiased opinion and provide the right guidance

People are trying to help the lad as much as possible, lots of good advice has been given across multiple different threads. His age is actually a major benefit as there is plenty of time for him to.sort it out. I’ve said before I wish I had learnt my lessons at 19 rather than later on when I did serious damage.

All the community can do is continue to offer sound advice which is what has been done.

On a serious note, dress smart, Make sure you have a shower before hand. Take enough money to pay the bill, don’t try to hard and just relax. She will probably be as nervous as you for the first few minutes

Oh and make sure you gaff is tidy and clean just in case the date goes really well and you end up back at yours. No one wants to see plates of left over food and dirty clothes all over the place!!

Hi Quazzi – i think it comes back to what we have said a couple of times in our posts; the community will always help where it can, but people have to be willing to understand that it wont always result in a cash hand out (very very rarely infact), as the best help people can sometimes get is the right advice pointing them in the right direction. If people choose not to follow that advice then it is down to them. But when a group of people all tell you the same thing (e.g. lower your weekly debt plan amount) then at some point you have to take notice and give it a try.

I am not sure how much advice people can give to you if your not going to listen to it mate. Repaying £486 a month is a lot to repay (to put it in perspective, thats a mortgage payment for a lot of people). There must be something seriously wrong with your DMP if you are only left with around £7 a week to spend. I understand that you want to pay your debts off as soon as you can but your still young – dont let it ruin your life.

I am struggling to understand your posts a little bit as in one you said that you owe £9k, but it will take you 3 years at 486 a month to clear – thats 17k. If your on a decent DMP your interest should be frozen so something isnt quite adding up. I would speak to stepchange and get yourself reassessed to get that figure lowered and give you more disposal income for general social activities

Not having a go – just saying that something is wrong somewhere. Hopefully you can sort it out.

Whenever I have done these I usually end up missing by one or two teams. Usually it’s the teams that your 100% think would be a goal fest (according to tv as I know fuck all about footy) that lets me down
