I lost my first marriage due to lying to her – she gave me the oppurtunity to come clean and I witheld a few things which came back and bit me in the arse. I came back from afghan and she had changed the locks on the house. Couldnt blame her really. We still speak now but it was 100% my fault. One thing that really helps me is my Mrs. I was honest with her from the start and she tries hard to understand how a gamblers mind works. Im completely honest with her over what I win/loose on any session, but as long as she knows that the bills are paid every month and we are not in any financial trouble she is ok with it; she knows with poker I have winning and loosing sessions but at the end of the year I nearly always have a profit overall.

She still throws it back at me every now and again “You won’t take me here for a meal as you say its to expensive but will happily go and play poker tomorrow and take a couple of k with you…….your a tit” hahahaha

Just make sure you keep yourself as straight as possible for now mate. I know you have said that you have excluded yourself from online which is defo the best thing. Be honest with the Mrs (I know its hard and she will be pissed for a bit) but you have some money which can float you until next payday etc.

Your head is probably fucked at the moment but it gets easier each day and the Mrs will come round in the end.

It used to be about the money for me. Chasing the expensive house, car, holidays etc. I then discovered that I could get these things by saving instead of trying to get a quick hit.

I play a lot of poker now, but to me its not the money that interests me as much as outplaying other people on the table. If i lose a big pot due to someone getting lucky but I have made the right decisions throughout the hand, I am not hard on myself.

My only main problem (apart from the FOBT lucky escape a couple of weeks ago) is playing craps when Im in vegas. But I do love that game. And the Mrs knows that Vegas is my blowout holiday.

Mrs W didnt tell me that the main freezer in our kitchen wasnt closing and kept opening. So to keep it shut (instead of getting me to fix it) decided to put a big 20kg box of washing powder infront of it. What she didnt do was mop up the water. So when I came to fix it yesterday and lifted the washing powder up, the bottom of the box had got soaked and split. My kitchen looked liked something Tony Montana would be proud of!

Before anyone asks, the freezer is fixed and I dont want the Bandit to give me any washing powder. Mrs W might be getting traded in if she carries on though…………….:)

Nothing wrong with getting something of your chest mate – we all love a good rant and it does help. Im a lot calmer now than i used to be but a few years ago if I lost a few quid at the casino, instead of venting on a forum I would go home, empty the safe and go straight back as i thought the casino owed me. A good rant might have stopped me doing that.

Hes a little shit at times mate!!! Last time he was out in the garage he chewed through the chest freeze power cable (luckily turned off) but had to rewire it before putting the christmas food in. Mrs W could figure out why it wasnt working hahaha. Was going to let her rewire it but her DIY skills are not really that good so not a chance she was getting near anything electrical

Ive got a rabbit mate – and believe it or not his best friend is my staffy (which is a rescue dog). The pair of them like to run round the front room chasing each other, then usually fall asleep with the rabbit next to the dog 🙂

I agree – had a good look at their site the other day. I often wonder how the smaller charities like this manage to keep going as they dont have the marketing budget of the likes of RSPCA etc. but they are doing what they can. I think the amount raised will really help them out.
