Wowzers, didn’t realise there were people who’d put in multiple entries. Disgraceful if true, it’s just spitting on Steve doing something nice in the most selfish, anti-Christmas way possible. I agree, there’s no end of charities who could use the money for something good.

It’s the root of all evil mate especially when it’s free. As soon as these people get a sniff of free money they are like a pack of wolves.

I think what I hate the most is that it makes me cynical and see the worst in people. And I’m doing okay now but I’ve had times even in the last year or two where I’ve been down on my luck in various ways, indeed before Gamstop there were times I haven’t helped myself with the gambling as a poor way of escapism from other problems, but the chancers and the begging and the stuff like this with the draw entries, it just means every time now someone who might be genuine posts a story about how they’re struggling, I instantly think “yeah bullshit”, even though I’ve been there myself. I don’t like that it erodes my compassion.

Nope. Staff in bookies and casinos have no ability to alter a game’s RTP / odds and wouldn’t notice you anyway or have any idea whether or not you’re a new player if you walk in, sit down and start playing a machine.

Who bumped this thread which is over a year old? Almost gave me a heart attack, thought JB was back for a second!

I think by multiplier of stake that was the Bandit’s biggest ever slot win. I never thought I’d see something in the 30,000x range outside of DoA2.

Yes, that’s very unlucky. I played a lot of online slots throughout 2017 and 18 usually on 30p-50p stakes and I hit dozens of wins over 500x in that time. Only half a dozen that were over 1000x and my biggest slot win is 2000x so there are people luckier than me, for sure, but I would usually get one or two bonuses in the 300x-500x range in an average session and loads of bonuses over 100x.

    1. It’s not a scam site, it’s a very well known, tightly regulated, reputable casino. I played there regularly for 2 years and never had a bad experience.

    2. This ain’t Trust Pilot.

    @Haz40 to co-opt the thread title, that’s a bit harsh! 😀

There’s a difference between begging for cash and merely inquiring as to whether Steve has any plans for a festive season competition/giveaway like he’s done in the past. Though as someone said, would be a bit difficult now with bonus buys removed.

What a difference a year makes though! No begging posts on the forum lately. I know Steve is a generous, caring and charitable man and I imagine he’s continuing to help a lot of people behind the scenes, it’s just not publicly visible here, which I think is for the best. Also this time last year was when he was making huge bank virtually every day at the peak of the Reel King frenzy and I guess it made him feel good to share that astonishing run of luck both in terms of the epic story and the money that just wouldn’t stop rolling in almost every time he touched that slot.

But of course it led to a lot of chatter on the forum and then a lot of new accounts popped up every week. some with obviously contrived “living in my car” sob stories and some just transparently begging. I think sadly it was an example of the saying “no good deed goes unpunished”.

Some providers including Play n Go and Red Tiger offer a few different versions of their games with different RTPs, so for example Book of Dead comes in three flavours which I think are 96%, 94% and 92% and each casino can choose which version they have.

Other providers such as Greentube and NetEnt do not offer variable RTPs and their games are exactly the same on every casino. Book of Ra for example is 94.26% regardless of where you play it.

RTP aside, I used to like Video Slots when I was playing, I think it’s a great casino in many ways but I wouldn’t play Book of Dead or Reactoonz there when I know I could go on any other casino I had an account at and play those same games but with a better chance of winning. To me that’s a no-brainer. If I just wanted a bash on NetEnt, Greentube and BTG games (which were my favourites anyway), Video Slots is as fine a choice as any.

@argyl53 – thank you, a sensible comment. The point I’m making is that to notice the difference between 96% and 92% RTP you only have to play about 40 spins, statistically.

TheBandit broadcast to thousands of people that it makes no difference at all unless playing a large sample. That is FALSE and people playing those games should know the truth. After 40 spins you are losing money compared to a higher RTP version of the same slot. I’m angry that 2/3 people disagree with that, like wtaf? You disagree with maths? LOL

Right so I’ve just watched today’s video and yeah there’s a bit where Steve says he’s played a Play n Go game with a lower RTP and it didn’t matter because it still bonused within about five spins.

Well sure, the RTP could be reduced to 1% and a game might still give you a decent bonus on your very first spin, the point is it’s a lot less likely to do that on a lower RTP.

I honestly don’t get why this is even a thing people are arguing about. If you place a bet on me rolling a die and you win if the result is a 1, 2 or 3 and I then suddenly switch it for a die with 8 sides instead of 6, no one would sit there and go “oh well it doesn’t matter so long as I only have one or two rolls instead of a million, I won’t notice the difference” – of course it fucking matters, it obviously matters, because your chance of winning has been substantially reduced. It’s exactly the same if a slot’s RTP is lowered, your chance of winning on any given spin has just dropped. There’s nothing that’s open to debate or opinion there.

I honestly don’t think you even need to understand anything about maths, certainly not anything as complex as probability theory, limits, statistics, calculus or whatever else, just to understand that obviously you’re better off playing a 96% version of a slot over a 92% version. I mean, that’s so obvious it shouldn’t even need saying let alone be the subject of debate. If a slot’s RTP is reduced, it doesn’t matter whether you play one spin, 30 spins or a million spins; in all cases, your chance of winning across any sized set of spins has been reduced because that’s literally what the RTP being cut means. If Video Slots had announced it as “we’ve cut the chance of you winning on Book of Dead”, would people be sitting here going “so guys, can we fiercely debate whether or not this means they’ve cut the chance of winning on Book of Dead?”

Also believed that if I stick to one game even if it rinses me for months, eventually the Rtp will shift and I will get back what I put in.

To be fair that one’s largely true in that the more spins you give a game over time the more your personal record on it will inevitably trend towards the stated RTP.

Yeah the self-exclusion system for land-based venues is absolutely atrocious. You can join Sense for UK casinos, but the maximum ‘restricted’ time is just six months. After that you can withdraw it. Shocking.

I saw some writing on here there is still online websites no on gamstop would ther be anyway of letting me know these so i can self exclude from them.

?‍♂️ Good news for you; you don’t need to self exclude from them as long as you don’t know which ones they are.

The reason you don’t use Curacao casinos as a means of bypassing Gamstop is exactly because you end up in this situation “I won but they won’t actually give me the money”

Maybe they pay you if you’re lucky but you have no practical recourse as a UK player if they don’t, because the UKGC does not have jurisdiction.
