Before I signed up to Gamstop, I had well over 150 features on Bonanza alone and days where I hit the feature six or seven times in a single session so I can assure you it does happen for normal players. Tbh 10,000 spins particularly if you mean in total across all the megaways games you’ve played is absolutely sod all. You have to remember these games are very high RTP in the base game, it wasn’t uncommon for me to start with 100x my stake on Bonanza and get 300-500 spins out of it. They’re among very few games where you’ve got a reasonable chance of having a small profit after 100 spins even without hitting a feature.
Good. I’m sure over on Casinomeister they’ll be bemoaning how their right to be degen addicts and financially ruin themselves is being forcibly taken away from them, but feature buys are poison. I’ve said it before, they’re just the online equivalent of the now banned £20-£50 mega spins on FOBTs, allowing a player to lose thousands in mere minutes with very little comparative chance of making their money back the further in they sink. Tbh I’d support the UKGC if they forced all online slots to be limited to max £2 per spin.
Matey getting a new phone on contract and then immediately selling it for significantly less than its value to pay off a gambling debt racked up on another phone bill is definitely not happy days. Get yourself on Gamstop again or I can almost guarantee in six months or a year you’ll be posting on here about how you’re thousands in debt again and totally fucked.
This is my advice, do with it what you will but I’ve seen this scenario play out many times with many people.
1How about instead of bringing them back we have a daily rotating hat where other forum members become JB and Mr B. I don’t mind wearing the Mr B hat first; I’ll do a @Rbreen91 call out thread if you like.
@Seedy can you email her my registered email address and a link to this thread please?
Playing online, a mate of mine once got the explorer symbol of Book of Ra 6 in a bonus which wouldn’t stop retriggering and although he did manage 4 of them (500x total on the 6 reel version) it only happened once in a whopping 120 spins.
I never played at the kind of scale most streamers do, but I can tell you there’s been a few occasions where I’ve covered one or two numbers on roulette with the last of my balance and had it land. I can think of two occasions last year where with my last £15 I did a split on 8/11 which landed (two of my favourite numbers) and I know I’ve also had 11 land with that being the only number I had covered with my last tenner, same has happened with 16. So it may be rare fortune but it’s far from impossible.
I thought my gambling was under control and it had been for a long time until suddenly it wasn’t and I lost a grand over night.
I also signed up to Gamstop after losing a lot more than a grand in one session, major tilt on live roulette. But even when my gambling was “under control” I would estimate over a period of about 10-12 years it cost me easily £100k+. Pretty shocking when I’m only 33. Looking back now, it makes me very sad to think about how if I hadn’t done it, I’d have an excellent credit rating instead of one so bad payday loan sharks wouldn’t touch me and I’d be owning a house on a mortgage instead of renting.
I do envy the people who can stick £50 on the slots or whatever, play on tiny stakes, be happy when if they cash out £75 or just leave it for another month when it’s gone. I was never really one of those people. If I deposited £250, I’d have days where I cashed out £3000 but all that would happen most of the time is the next day I’d see that win as a licence to deposit a grand and play on higher stakes. All of it would always go in the end and sometimes that took a couple of days, sometimes I’d be well up for most of a month and feel like I had all the spare money in the world kicking around. Those times were good, I’d buy myself stuff I wanted – new tablet, new phone, clothes, trainers, takeaways. But yeah it never lasts.
I do miss playing, for all it cost me I really did enjoy slots but I can’t deny I’m financially better off staying away from it all.
1People always get the two mixed up and on this forum you’ll frequently see people write Gamban when they mean Gamstop.
Gamstop is an online identity register you can sign up to and which most (soon to be all) UK licensed online casinos must check against both new sign ups and existing player accounts. When you sign up, you can choose the length of your registration in a range from 6 months to 5 years. Once you’re on the register, your online casino accounts will be blocked on the casino end and you will not be able to sign in, deposit or play. You cannot be removed from the register until your chosen time has expired.
Gamban is software you install on your device which monitors your internet connection and will block access to gambling sites. It is able to block access to a wider range of sites than Gamstop, including non-UK casinos and I believe it will even block access to stuff like the National Lottery. Although the software is designed to prevent simple uninstallation or removal by someone who doesn’t really know much about using a computer, the major disadvantage of this option is it takes very little by way of determination to get around it.
He was subject to some pretty nasty abuse (worse than JB at his peak on a bad day) which at least in the context of his recent thread was entirely unwarranted and undeserved. You don’t have to believe in always giving someone a second chance but Seedy has given him one in this case and unless/until he does something to screw it up I think he deserves to be treated with the minimum level of basic civility we all would give any other member.
Also, I’m on Gamstop, I found a UK licensed casino a couple of months ago which is not on Gamstop so do you know what I did? I signed up for an account and then immediately self-excluded for a year from it so that I can’t sign up to it and play in future. I did that without ever depositing or placing a single bet. I know very well what it’s like to have issues with gambling but you will never beat your problem if you’re not willing to take personal responsibility for it and instead blame others for making gambling accessible to you. That forum member did not make anyone deposit, gamble and lose money and you can always find a way to gamble if you really want to. I’m not saying it was okay to name any casinos not on Gamstop, of course it wasn’t and it was right he got a lengthy ban for it, but in my view that doesn’t make it his fault other people lost money because of their addiction either.
Go on live chat again or email them and say “you sent me the wrong form, my self exclusion period has ended and I want to remove myself from your register”
I posted a comment on his latest video, but the cowardly turd deleted it rather than answer. I said:
What a disgusting fraud you are. You won’t show your transactions because you know full well all those Bonanza videos you deleted were on free play where you were pretending to use real money. You’ve been caught doing it on Danger High Voltage too. And what a load of disingenuous BS to claim you’re a vlogger and affiliate rather than a sponsored streamer, as if that distinction is anything other than semantics. Fact is you get paid as an affiliate to get people to join casinos using your links and they do it off the back off your videos.
JB, we all know you’re lurking and watching somewhere. Make it your mission, every video Demo Mode Dazza uploads, let people know the truth about this utter charlatan. Put your trolling powers to good use!
Demo Mode Dazza doesn’t make a secret that his review videos of new slots are on free play, the issue is he built his channel on dozens of videos mostly of Bonanza where he was on free play but pretended he was actually gambling with real cash.
His “explanation” that he likes to play down a balance of £204.40 on 20p to get it down to a round £200 before he starts recording on a proper stake is ludicrous – he’s actually insulting his viewers’ intelligence to think he can get away with bullshitting like that. Just watch any of his remaining Bonanza videos and ask yourself, can you seriously imagine that man risking the bonus dropping in on 20p stake when he likes to play at 10 or 20 times that? Not a chance.
