Love the way they told you you’re no longer eligible for any bonuses first, before informing you your account was terminated. You know, just to avoid any confusion in case you were wondering if you’d be able to get a deposit bonus on your closed account.

Not getting heated for me; writing stuff online here and other places about a variety of topics is just something I do for entertainment, like reading a book. Because I’m quite verbose and enjoy expressing my thoughts, it may sometimes seem like I’m passionate about some of the things we talk about here, but as soon as I’m off the site I’ve switched off, I (usually) have no emotional stake in any of it.

Ok so a credit check run by an external company won’t be hit by gambling transactions since they are not visible to credit reference agencies. If you apply for a loan with your bank, it may be a different story as they do know your spending habits.

Won’t affect your credit file with the likes of Experian or Equifax, but your bank will rate you negatively for it and mortgage providers will ask to see maybe six months worth of complete bank statements. They tend to not be fond of gamblers.

The world needs people like me and other questioners, to hit subjects hard with nothing but passion and morals, and to bite down with all there might on the fraudulent workings of the top dogs.

The world needs sceptics and questioners, but you’re not one of them. I used to have a friend much like you; full of the same stuff, always going on about lying media, corrupt corporations, things not being as they seem. Like you, he saw himself as awake where everyone else was asleep, a righteous defender of the little man and eyes open to injustices no one else could see.

And like you, it was all bullshit. He wasn’t a sceptic and he didn’t judge things based on impartial analysis of evidence, he just lapped up and blindly swallowed anything which was anti-establishment. I remember once saying to him look mate, I’m not saying mainstream media don’t have an agenda, aren’t being bankrolled by people self promoting their own interests, or even that they don’t occasionally outright make up lies. I’m just saying zionistnewworldorder truth.org might also not be quite the reliable and impartial source of information you seem to think it is.

Loudly bleating about corrupt corporations and meeee-deeee-errrr doesn’t make you a shepherd, JB, it makes you one of the sheep.

I notice after challenging awesomex to both name the school his friends and family in California have told him is teaching this stuff, and to post anything directly from Snopes which is evidence of deliberate misleading or lying, they’ve predictably done a duck-and-run from the thread.

I go off evidence and fact finding just like you do mate.

Every one of my theories I’ve posted have substance to them. Maybe some are a bit out there. But they all certainly deserve to be entertained or discussed.

Then why don’t you ever post the substance and evidence? Take the slot rigging idea for example; the majority of your posts have never amounted to any more substance than “all corrupt mate, where there’s money there’s corruption” and “prove to me they’re not rigged”. Neither of these things are evidence or substance. If you’ve got evidence of slot rigging, you’re yet to share it despite being invited to do so dozens of times.

And if I can’t find any conspiracy in a discussion, I simply won’t entertain the subject.

    Well, that’s certainly true!

Yeah, it’s a good starting point – IQ tests can basically answer the question “compared to the average result of other people who’ve taken this test, is this person very dumb, very smart, or somewhere in between?”

Have to put it out there but IQ results and tests are completely irrelevant and just because someone scores high or low doesn’t fully encapsulate intelligence. Anyone who believes they are of a higher standard because they score a high result should use said brilliance and look into the major flaws of IQ tests as a whole and anyone who is belittled because they scored low shouldn’t worry about a meaningless test that didn’t ask you personally the correct questions.

It’s one of those gray areas; certainly I’d agree that IQ tests are not in themselves a reliable measure of intelligence for many reasons, not least that we don’t even have a full understanding or agreement of exactly what intelligence is (we tend to judge it as “it’s what humans do” and then use that as a benchmark against which to measure each other and other animals).

On the other hand, IQ tests do reasonably measure a range of particular cognitive and memory skills such that if you score an IQ below 70, you are definitely developmentally challenged and likewise, if you score above about 130, you are almost certainly very smart by any reasonable or generally accepted standards and criteria of intelligence. There’s not much discernible difference in IQs below or above these kind of ranges, nor is there a significant difference overall between say, someone who scores 125 versus someone who scores 112.

IQ is one measurement and it’s semi-useful as a kind of intelligence litmus test, but yeah not really beyond that.

I see awesomex has fully come out of the closet as a nutcase this last week. Bravo sir. I look forward to the hilarity of yourself and just basic [understanding of everything] bouncing off each other.

I think an easier categorisation would be sensible vs insensible.

    P. S. Mortal engines is awful. Save yourself 2hrs.

Yeah I’ve decided I’m probably not going to do the climate change thing. I don’t know, I get bored easily so if they create a specific thread for it I can’t guarantee I won’t end up allowing myself to be baited in to it just because writing about stuff and debating stuff online is (and perhaps this does make me insane) one of the ways I unwind and relax. But equally part of me thinks is it worth the effort? It’s like debating with young earth creationists; I actually did that a lot years ago and my main takeaway was that there was literally no degree of evidence which would persuade them for the simple reason they wouldn’t accept anything which brought in to question what they wanted to be true. Me, I’m a free thinker and truth seeker, I have no personal emotional investment in whether or not human activity is changing the climate, or whatever hot topic. If someone can show me through new information or re-evaluation of perspective that I was wrong about something – anything – I’ll unapologetically change my views on it in a heartbeat. It’s a good thing to me to be wrong sometimes, it means I’ve learned and grown. Some people don’t want to do that and that’s fine, but it creates the question of should I spend energy engaging with them.

@awesomex, if you’d like to start a general discussion thread for debating climate change, please do so. This is not the thread for it and I’ve already said I’m not going to hijack it for that purpose.

@argyl53 I think he a wants us to accept it as fact, much like he did when someone told it to him. He’ll deflect. Sadly there are a lot of people who’ve spent their life being gaslighted and cognitive dissonance won’t let them escape now. Great powerplay by someone.

Of course, I’m very unlikely to get anything meaningful back, I know this. It’s more about the point of not letting utter BS go unchallenged. For example, awesomex says they know the topic of this thread is true because they “have tons of friends and family in Cali who told me how their kids were being taught this shit in school” – okay, which school? What’s its name, what district is it in? You’ve got tons of friends and family over there, surely you can find out the name of at least one school that’s teaching what you say? We can then very easily verify this and if it subsequently turns out you’re right, I’ll join you in condemning it as disgusting and thank you for highlighting the issue. Simple. If you can’t do that because it turns out you don’t really have friends and family over there and you’re just posting bullshit fake news to the forum for your own amusement or attention, please stop doing it because it makes it a worse place for everyone.

The very subject of this fucking thread, how about that?

No. I’m asking you to copy and paste anything directly from snopes.com which you can show is either partisan misleading or a lie. For someone who achieved the considerable intellectual feat of scoring 180 on a Mensa IQ test which has a maximum possible score of 162, this should be super easy, right?

The thing we need to focus on is plastic in the oceans. That’s a real problem. But this global warming bullshit is some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. It’s not something humanity can do anything about. Besides, we’re in the coldest 5% of the temperature on earth since it’s origin. We might even be affected by super suns from other solar systems without even knowing about it, so to think us tiny little humans on a tiny little planet are godlike creatures who are so important in the big picture of things is incredibly naive. It’s typical human behaviour though – Make the image of some sort of god to resemble man, and then think man is godlike.

Well I’m not going to play a part in turning backinamo.com in to a site for debating conspiracy theories. Suffice to say the level of evidence and international scientific consensus on man-made climate change is overwhelming and comes from bodies of research with highly diverse political, economic and national backgrounds which do not share vested interests. As I say, I’ll leave the topic there, I just mention because I used to be sceptical on man-made climate change until I really looked at all the huge range of research and evidence and found the conclusion is simply undeniable.
