Up to the casino which games don’t count towards wagering (or in some cases, can’t be played with bonus funds at all). It’s always either the RTP being much higher than normal (e.g. Dead or Alive) or that it’s a very low volatility game which will float your balance almost indefinitely; basically any game where you’d be able to beat the wagering without taking much if any risk to your balance.

Yeah I wouldn’t count turnover as wagering, but I would sometimes in a month have had total deposits of a few grand, just the withdrawals to go with them meant I never staked more than £250 of my “original” money.

Not playing any more so I voted as £0-£50, but I was previously budgeting about £250 per month as a loss limit, which could sometimes amount to a turnover of a few grand, easily.

Shrug from me on this one; other than the fact the person playing didn’t actually get any money, what difference does it make if some of the pictures are free play anyway?

So I’ve been reading these forum posts because I thought my loss of £260 last night was bad. I guess it’s all relative as to how much you can afford to lose. Normally I’d deposit £20 on a few sites and try build a balance but never much more.

Anyway, last night I thought I’d give Primal a go because it came up on new games with Mr Green. Wish I’d never opened it up!

For me the game teases big wins virtually every spin and bonuses once in a full moon! Several bonus teases later and one mega tease and I was fully tilted! £160 down and I created a new account with 21 Casino and put in £100 raw.

Finally managed a bonus on it which gave me 35 spins for £38 ?

Anyone else know the struggles of this game?

Like Bonanza, this is another one of those ultra volatile megaways games. The best thing you can do with them is choose a stake you can afford to just give it a 100 spins once in a while and immediately leave it if you don’t hit something. The chances of getting a bonus at all on these games in 100 spins (or even 500) is small, the chances of getting a really big bonus is negligible, so it’s simply not worth chasing. The flipside of course is if you do get a very lucky day, the feature can go for hundreds or even thousands of times your stake. Case in point, I had probably about 150-200 bonuses on Bonanza and only saw it hit 1000x once.

£5 at 40p/60p per spin? No wonder you’re never seeing a bonus, even the lowest volatility games need a bit more than 10 spins if you want to hit something!

There’s certainly a valid debate and more research to be had in to potential health benefits of a range of compounds found in cannabis, including CBD. I enjoy a smoke myself, not so much for health reasons but just because I enjoy the feeling and have done for the last 20 years. I don’t like the feeling of being drunk so I prefer this.

But I would say just because there’s some intriguing results from limited studies, the jury is still out on CBD when it comes to any physical or mental health benefits. It’s not conclusively shown to work better than a placebo, for anything. So don’t put too much stock in it as a miracle cure for whatever. A lot of former snake oil salesmen are now cannabis oil salesmen but it’s the same patter.

How difficult is it to make little slot? I’d love to have ago although I only have a pretty basic knowledge of programming and stuff

Answer is easy or hard depending on what you design and how you decide to build it. There are zero programming game making toolkits you could use, or you could do it in Flash, or HTML5, Unity, Java…the possibilities are endless. Decide what you want it to run on/as (is this a mobile app, a web app, etc.?) Then you’ve got all the different options for graphic design and the choice between 2d or 3d.

But I would say building a simple slot is a fantastic little project to teach yourself a bit of programming and game development. If you go for it, start with a simple 3 reel, 1 win line one-arm bandit style as that will be the easiest whatever technology combination you choose.

Nice, I’m a bit of a cheapskate (I mean, supporter of open source) so I used Inkscape and Notepad++.

@groundiskey looks good! What’d you build it with?

Need Steve to record some lines for a Backinamo slot. It would be great to have his voice saying some familiar and memorable lines, e.g. when you land the scatters he says “I’m gonna jump right in, grab myself a bonus”

Interesting just on the basic 3-stack reel layout I have right now to see how often you get things like near-misses, bonus mega teases, little wins just blocked on one reel from being huge etc. – all those little things it’s easy to get so tempted in to thinking must be pre-determined or deliberate for a wind up. Turns out they very much do happen just on chance.

Ha, I actually did have a quick look in to how much it’d cost me as a sole trader to get a gambling software licence, application and  annual fee comes to about £10k 😮

I guess we’ll be sticking to fun mode or some “technically it’s not gambling” competition.

Little update for today: this morning I’ve added a better visual effect to the spin button when pressed, added effects sitting in the background for later; one for Bandit’s Wonky Wilds where it swaps random symbols for wilds, plus another for the scatter symbols when a bonus is triggered. Added Auto play button and made it work. Cleaned up a couple of minor bugs. Added credit amount and bet size (currently fixed at 2 credits but will be adjustable in final game), added check for sufficient credit to make the spin. Added a text box container for game messages (e.g. insufficient credit, total bonus win etc.)

£100 to £6k in two bets? Are you saying if one of the numbers on your first bet comes in for £180, you then put all of that on a single number? If so, then no it’s doubtful you’ll ever see that £6k hit or if you do, assuming you can only afford to do this once a month it’ll take you years to get that lucky.
