My wife set up an account and borrowed my credit card

Aaaaaaand there’s your answer. I feel for you mate, I do, I can only imagine how hard it must feel to deal with that, I know I’d be going utterly spare but the simple golden rule of playing online is you always use your own card, your own account, your own address, your own internet connection and get your account verified with your ID before you attempt any big withdrawal. Anything else and you’re setting yourself up for tears.

I’m very disdainful of feature buys as a concept. More dangerous than roulette, look at what people have done on Extra Chilli. I never played that, I stuck with Bonanza and if Bonanza had a feature buy I wouldn’t have used it. The price for the buy is always more than the expected return of the bonus, the very best case scenario is that in some games like White Rabbit they change a high-risk, high-reward game in to a low-risk, low-return one and worst case scenario they rip you off for thousands of individual spins’ worth of stake for maybe even zero return.

Don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but on the Spinal Tap wheel the first spin can only give you 2, 3 or 4 as your number. You should always reject the offer and spin again. But it’s a shit game, you’re lucky to hit anything, I remember giving it loads of feature buys on demo mode a few months back and the amount I “lost” doing £300 buys was staggering.

White Rabbit I used to play for real. Obviously i’m not gambling at all for the moment now, but when I did I packed that game in after out of about 50 feature buys (usually on 30p stake), only six returned a profit, only one of those was at least twice what I’d paid for it and the last two paid a total of 18x between them (that is, less than £6 total for 2 x £30 buys). It may have potential but every slot has potential, hitting the potential is a different matter.

I really hope OP wasn’t lying to try for free money off someone else’s sympathy and generosity. I really, really hope that isn’t what’s happened here. I would always give someone writing on here the benefit of the doubt, because I know how often these horror stories of misery and ruin are actually true, so I’d never jump on anyone with cynicism by default in that respect. But while chancers in the sense of new sign ups going “oh yeah anyone else done 20,000 spins on whatever megaways and not got a bonus? I just done 5 grand through it and it never paid me more than 20p” are easy to spot, the very thought of anyone concocting a story like the one in this thread makes me both angry and sad. As I say, I just sincerely hope it isn’t what happened, that the guy’s story was genuine and that he’s doing okay and making progress getting his life back together.

I’ve never seen any other streamer or video producer care about their community and supporters in the way The Bandit does. The sheer empathetic gravitas of a stranger you’ve never met, particularly one which only knows you as a voice on the internet, offering to buy you a place in a hotel room is rarer than a four leaf clover, it takes a very genuinely good soul to offer that. As does the other offers of help which came from other forum members. It’s a truly top crowd here.

Anyway, I am off to start on today’s video, should give me a good bit of entertainment after the first day back at work!

The Reel King ladder is an interesting one. Statistically from my own historical play, I don’t believe it’s straightforwardly a 50-50 gamble. Obviously I don’t know how it works, but I’d struggle to believe off my statistics that it’s true odds. It plays more like it starts with lower odds and gives you a better chance the higher up you go. Like I think you have a much better chance of getting to the top once you’ve passed the halfway mark than you do of getting halfway up in the first place.

@Deltafocus your story is heartbreaking to read. Please, please take the hotel Steve’s kindly offered and keep posting here, keep talking to us about your situation and your feelings. There are people here who can relate, who can help and can make all the difference to you right now. I get that you don’t want to come across as wanting anything from anyone, but a hotel booking when you’re out on the street at this time of year – it can be the difference between life and death and whatever you’ve done in respect of gambling, you don’t deserve to be homeless. It’s not like you’d be taking any money, just a place to stay for a short while.

Whatever you do I wish you luck and I hope to hear from you on here again. I hope to hear from you over the coming weeks with positive news about you getting back on track.

I don’t even want to see my deposit histories, net losses etc. – until a few years ago, I spent the better part of a decade chucking money every week (usually several times a week) in to FOBTs on the high street. And the two things I learned from that are a) if I’d never gambled, I’d almost certainly own a house on a mortgage right now instead of renting with zero savings and a barely above zero credit rating and b) fuck Rainbow Riches, there is a special place in hell for that game.

I don’t mind autocorrect fudging the odd word I’ve typed incorrectly on my phone but what I hate is when I type the actual word I meant correctly and Android just randomly decides I must’ve meant a different word and changes it for me.

Bonanza on 20p will keep you going a while off a 20 quid deposit, the base game will float that balance for probably about 200 spins at least. Then if you hit a bonus and get up to 40 quid or more, try Secret of the Stones on 50p.

Magnet again you’re just posting your own speculation. The reason I know the facts on this is because I do programming for a living and I know the mechanics of how these slot games work. Many of them use a backend written in Java and utilise the SecureRandom module to generate the spin result, while the client side is just the graphical frontend making calls to the remote API. This set up cannot be manipulated to forge winning spins, it’d have to have a backdoor built in which bypasses the RNG. And guess what? The source code is independently audited to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Yeah but let’s remember there’s opinions and there’s facts. The facts are that casinos do not and cannot manipulate the slot games to provide wins or enhance odds for particular players. Slots are genuinely random and the reason you see streamers hitting so many wins is simply because their turnover of play is much higher than the average punter. Streamers do get continual bonuses which allow them to play longer but they are almost always subject to the same wagering requirements as any other player.

Someone here said they hit 5000x in the base game on Bonanza too. I can only guess that was a lot of diamonds on 117000 megaways. I never liked any of the other BTG titles, DHV for example I found incredibly boring to play, hard to bonus and the bonus never paid me anything good, I don’t think I ever saw anything above 50x on it.

All the other megaways games they and other providers under licence have released seem like poor clones of Bonanza to me, usually just designed to rip more money off you quicker. And White Rabbit seems designed entirely to make you buy the bonus for an almost guaranteed loss.

Ahh pub fruities…haven’t played one in years but I remember holding down Cancel would usually make the skill stop go super slow. The good old days of listening to the pound coin drop to hear whether it was filling the hoppers or going down the excess money chute to the back.
