Hang on, mate – the “14 billion spins later” thread I was posting on before I knew there was a video up today. I’m often here talking about slots and bonuses, it’s not something I started doing today and my post history reveals that.

As for Steve’s unexpected give away, so what if people are posting about the games they don’t do well on? The Bandit will do another surprise giveaway if and when he wants to and to the forum members he chooses. No doubt some people are posting in the hope they’ll be picked; is there something wrong with people wishing for a bit of good luck?

Bonanza is surprisingly good to me; I’ve just had a session where I failed to land the feature in 400ish spins, but that is rare for me. Other day I got 8 bonuses in the space of about 2 hours, two of which were decent (250x and 400x), about another 3 were okay (50-100x) and the others were duffers at 15x or less. Bonanza is one of those ones that’s worth pursuing, because you’ll quite often find 100 spins costs less than half the wager amount, sometimes you’re even in profit without a feature.

Just now Captain Venture for the 3rd sesh in a row dropped me in the scatters inside my first 20 spins, unfortunately today it was 14 spins for 75x, no retriggers. 75x might sound okay but it’s actually disappointing and below average on that game, you normally expect 100-200x minimum on Venture which is probably why it can be so hard to land.

Yet again 100 spins through Dolphin’s Pearl with no luck! I’m starting to think that one just doesn’t like me….but the first ever time I played it, I was on 40p stake and hit 90 free spins for £300. Never come remotely close since then.

Things Bonanza does which do my tits in; the “GOL” mega tease where those scatters come in on the first three reels, then it doesn’t give you a drop. When it brings in 117,000 ways and doesn’t give you a win off it. And finally, when you get a GOL tease with about 7 drops and it still can’t find the D. I sound like a right weirdo playing it, sitting there shouting at my computer “Where’s my D? Give me the D!” haha!

Magic Mirror II is the one that will screw me for 1200 spins with no feature, I don’t know how people get it, I’ve had it like twice in my life and both times it was less than 30x. I’ve seen videos of people landing it twice within 10 spins and I can’t get it in literally a thousand.

Also Wonky Wabbits, given that hundreds and hundreds of spins, never seen more than 2 wilds and most of those I’ve had haven’t even linked anything for a big win celebration.

I would want an explanation from the provider as to why a void round displayed as a feature trigger. It may just be that’s their default screen; one of the old Rainbow Riches arcade cabinets would irritatingly display a full screen of jackpot symbols in the event of an error, heavens knows why. But yeah certainly if that happened to me, I wouldn’t be touching PnG again.

Interesting actually the way different people seem to have totally different regular experiences on the same slots – I for example can usually hit a feature on Captain, but I can never land it on Dolphin’s Pearl no matter how many spins i give it. But a couple of streamers used to refer to that game as their “ATM” because it would always pay for them.

High voltage; I hardly ever hit a feature there even in 2-300 spins and the few times I do, it’s inevitably terrible (15x or less, including trigger). I’ve never had a decent hit off that one.

I’ve seen people play Book of Dead for 1000 spins with no feature, I frequently get it within 50 but again it usually only pays me around 30x.

Bonanza – Steve famously went something like 1800 spins with no feature there, but I’ll normally hit anything from 2-8 bonuses in a session. Takes me an average of 50-150 spins to get one.

Unlucky mate; twice in the last two days the Captain’s landed me his scatters less than 20 spins in. But I have also had it go through a run of 300 with no joy before.

I mostly play on 20p – £1 stakes, so I’ve had some really great wins off such tiny bets, including:

Dolphin’s Pearl Deluxe – 40p, £300 (my first ever feature on that game, never come close to hitting 750x again!)

Captain Venture – £1, £1068 (that beast went for 192 free spins)

Book of Ra 6 – 60p, £600 (Explorer line which included a feature trigger, on the very first spin when I was down to my last £10)

Rainbow Riches Reels of Gold – £25 “big bet” (equiv. 60p stake), £1200 (brought in all wins x5 from the fairy, then gave me four reels of expanding wilds on both sides)

Reel King – 80p, £400 (5 reel king feature, which is always 500x, sweet because it came in on my 3rd spin)

Book of Ra – 30p, £300 (bonus with explorer, got four of them for 1000x)

    Lucky Lady Charm – 40p, £300

There’s more but these are a few that stand out in my memory….a few times I’ve actually got deposits of £10 to a grand or more. My personal best is being down to my last £2 and a few hours later withdrawing £3500.

Do you believe the game is fair and random?

Haha now that’s the question! I’d like to think so, but as we know from for example the Extra Chili gamble wheel, games can visually mislead you. Back when I played FOBTs, I used to get the feature a lot on Deal or No Deal virtual scratchcard game and the number of times I’d deal at around £100 only for it to show me I had £500 in my box was way more than I’d expect off fair and random probability. And of course I never had the £500 if I went all the way.

I know i’m in the minority but i just don’t get the appeal of this slot

I’m with you, as far as I’m concerned DHV is probably one of the worst slots on the market. Very, very little chance of hitting the feature inside 100 spins and average feature payout is less than 25x. The maths says it’s not worth it. Very occasionally I’ll give 20 spins on 40p just in case I get something good but I’d 95% of the features I’ve had have been very underwhelming.

As for the Gates of Hell feature, people are always going oh skulls, bells yeah they’re the bad symbols, when the truth there aren’t any good symbols. Whatever it picks for your wild, chances are it’ll miraculously disappear from the reels for 6 of your 7 spins.

I’ve had a good run mostly on Bonanza last few days; 7 bonuses in one session! A few duffers but also one 600xer and 3 times in the last week I’ve withdrawn between £100-300 off £10 deposits.

You should never assume a wild line (or full screen of wilds / top symbol) is going to be huge money; all slots are different, on some just one wild line will be 1000x, on others it might be 10x. Always look at the pay table before you play!

Ahh I had a High Voltage feature that paid nothing too; didn’t bring in the multiplying wild reel on a single spin. I don’t even mean it came in but didn’t connect with anything, it literally didn’t show up on the reels in the entire 15 spins! Worst Gates of Hell was when it gave me Jacks and brought in one on the very last spin, I think that bonus paid 0.2x excluding the 6x trigger.

Congrats. Now the trick is to keep the profit and treat yourself to something nice. Don’t make the mistake most of us do and chuck it all back in the next day trying to win more!
