If they have that addiction in their body, something will trigger it at some point and you can’t be sure what. I dont blame my mum and dad for my addiction just because they brought me up in a seaside town full of arcades for a 14 years. The arcades were just a small part of it. People signing up with affiliation links know what it means, and if they dont after all this shit, they shouldn’t even be online. Each youtube video you go on, whether it be a vlogger, kids channel, gambler, fisherman, gamer will all have an affiliate link for something or another. Cant blame them for people having an addiction to shopping or addiction to spending can you.

You can’t blame them for ppl having an addiction but you can blame them for preying on it! The ‘big win’ videos in particular are most concerning

You don’t stumble into them, people have to be looking

You could quite easily stumble into them don’t be so naive! Chip has a fifa channel bandits got soccer million.

When i was younger walking around tesco and asda (supermarket) occasionally you would get someone standing at a little pop up counter with sample cakes/chocolate/donuts whatever it me be for you to try. You could walk up and take a piece. Yes their intention is to give you a taste for it and buy the product. However it is still free, saying oh its a promotion makes no difference

    Okay mate

Arlonewts- you clearly don’t have an addiction and never have, so I don’t expect you to know how it feels or how it affects people. I just want you to know that theres not a single big win video/promotion that has made me want a gamble. I want a gamble because I want it and I’m stubborn. It could be 2/3am and it wouldn’t have phased me. Please dont put it down to big wins, when yeah, it might influence someone to want to sign up to a casino and gamble, but the sensible person would never spend more than they could afford. An addicts mind works a lot different than you think.

Sorry but that’s you personally and can only speak for yourself.

Yes, I know I can only speak for myself, but other addicts I have spoken to agree with me. A video doesnt make you want to gamble, if you get that urge, then you get it and theres nothing you can do to fight it apart from gamstop. If you read all threads on the forum, you’ll see that people with addictions signed upto gamstop, and managed to find sites that gamstop didnt cover. They knew how dodgey the sites were and knew they probably wernt going to pay out, in the event that they won.

Not all addictions are the same, but they work the same way. You want that rush, that release of dopamine. That feeling it gives you, and how it can make you forget things you dont want to think about while you’re doing your addiction. Consequences at that point don’t matter because your head is buried to far into your addiction to realise what you’re doing until you finish. It’s only when you’ve spent every penny you have, on a comedown from the drug, have a massive hangover for the 2 seconds before you get out of bed to have another drink that you get those feelings of regret and hatred for yourself.

This is the only way I can think of explaining it.

So my point is that what if someone hasn’t triggered that addiction yet. Sees nick slots win 25k on rainbow riches and becomes hooked. Sees a link and thinks I’ll only put 20 in so I’m in the draw it can so easily lead to someone becoming addicted. You can’t deny that

Obviously he makes money, I can’t see the issue mate, it’s nothing like a phone contract where the phone technically is free on the basis you sign into a contract to pay for air time/data/texts I have not signed into any contracts have never paid the bandit anything directly or otherwise.

It was a promotion to his website/fan base but he charged nothing to those he was promoting too, so what’s the issue?

The issue is it opens a door for potential addicts.

Potential addicts who already watch hour long gambling videos?

My ex used to watch it with me she never once felt the urge to gamble and thought it was stupid but laughed at the commentary. If that’s your issue surely every advert, sponsorship in sport/TV, high Street bookies and the rest should be gone as they are open doors for addicts too.. I was a heavy gambler years before discovering YouTube content on it.

Well yeah they should. Hate bookies and the machines are the equivalent to streamers links! I think it’s well agreed that adverts on telly for gambling should be banned too! Addicts watching videos might think wow what a win I’m going to try and do that!

Nobody knows . All we can do is speak about what we do . I’ve used the links yes . Deposit 20 pound a month in each . Bet Victor and bet fair mainly used for sports . I don’t know about addicts and what other people spend , nobody knows but the person . So it’s just speculation about addicts making streamers all the money . It’s more like lots off little bits off money making a big pot off money . That’s only because I’m going off what I put in .

I agree with you. My problem started when chip started moaning about ‘fake’ streamers and the bandits weekly moan. It got me thinking. I looked into fruity Slots and other streamers. I just think the initial ‘were all friends and low stakes’ quickly disappear and it becomes ‘sign up to this. Sign up to that. Do they actually care if an addict loses everything from their links? It beckmes a business rather than a hobby. They have sheep that blindly follow them. How anyone still follows fruity slot after the gamstop episode I don’t know. But if I can stop one person being pushed into signing up and losing the lot then I’ll be happy. I just don’t agree with it anymore I used to but not no more

It’s absolutely promotion. I’ve personally not seen anyone deny that. It’s still free though, and nobody is forced to use links. I’ve never used the links on here, I’m quite capable of choosing my own betting sites. Most cunts are.

But some cunts aren’t. Hence the restrictions starting to be put in place hence gamstop being a thing. I don’t think you understand addiction if I’m honest. You’re all in denial!

The intention is to earn from it! That pays for it. That’s why he did 36 hour lil devil for the ‘I’m the first streamer to do’ niche. Is your ‘free’ contract phone free? No it’s a misleading promotion to get you look over it at my other offers!

I can’t understand how it’s not free, I already had accounts with the casinos so I don’t enter those draws. I entered this recent one with literally 0 cost to myself.. I’m sure that defines free.

It’s a promotion then. The giveaway is most likely to earn its self back with extra sign ups to casinos and affiliate percentages. It’s not a pay to enter giveaway it’s a promotional giveaway. To call it free is misleading. It’s become a trend with streamers lately. To get ppl to websites to get ppl signed up through their links. The ‘free’ giveaway is an example of that.

Well she did ask to watch them with me to see why I watched it myself so I wouldn’t go into percentages. Like I said luckily I’m clued up on it. Streamers ‘big wins’ and high stake sessions. Free giveaways that aren’t free definitely contribute to a problem and more needs to be done. Hence the youtube banning links and ukgc starting to put in restrictions!

I actually just read this, you got your wife hooked on gambling so now you’re blaming streamers? Fuck sake ????

Who said I blamed a streamer? I used it as an example of how someone new to gambling or had no intention of gambling becoming easily sucked into it. It’s a good job she’s sensible herself and doesn’t want to gamble that bad. Gamstop was just a Failsafe 🙂 🙂 🙂
