Now that isn’t very fair. I chucked my name in the hat in the off-chance I’d get lucky and have a bit of excitement. I don’t post much, don’t gamble anymore (and even if I did I’m self-excluded from all of said casinos). If the duplicate votes is a thing that can’t be fairly sorted then I’m all for giving it away to charity, but the giveaway was made the way it was for a reason.

In my case I bought a Subaru Impreza. but I ended up using the work hilux all the time, because it was handier.

I doubt New Zealand will follow. It’d be nice if they did have a gambling commission as effective as the UKGC though. At least it’s easy to self exclude from land based here.

Honestly mate, I was in this position about a year ago. I wish I’d have just gone ahead and never gambled again. Since that day despite making deposit limits etc with over 1000+ casinos out there still managed to gamble in the 5 figure region. Each relapse is harder with the more casinos I exclude from, so the damage is lessening, but I am always reminded of the horrible damage gambling has caused when I see my money go to repaying debt every week. I have it lucky in the sense that it’ll only be there for another 5 or so months. Others aren’t.

 

What I’m getting at here is that while it starts out being “only 2400 a year” the nature of the beast will turn that figure tenfold. Get out while you can.

Hey mate I’ve been there myself, even in cases where I was excluded from all of their sister casinos and they still refused the refund. Best thing you can do is exclude from there, and all the sister sites you can find, and move on. It’s a bitch of a habit to break but there are people here who are on the same journey. At least you aren’t in debt, and hopefully you keep out of there because it’s a hell of a lot worse cycle 🙁

New Zealand, there is next to no laws regarding online casinos here so I’m basically a fish in a barrel. The more sites the better. I’m happy either way, could you get in touch with Seedy and we’ll make this happen?

Have gotten rid of the debit card, but kept the credit card (ordering a new one soon and getting a friend to monitor my transactions). Doesn’t work properly on a lot of the Curacao sites (thank god) and govt is banning credit card transactions for gambling soon so have to tough it out. Banks in New Zealand for some reason can’t block said transactions, which is a pain. Best thing i can do is preemptively self exclude from as many casinos as possible. Thank you for the post and ideas ?

Winningbird I’m really sorry to hear this has happened to you. I managed to fight an urge last night and excluded from another 5 casinos (plus two that let me reopen despite “permanent” self-exclusion). You can knock this on the head, and know you’re not alone. Keep strong. 🙂
