The current leader is on 2417 points just outside the top 500 overall out of over 6.3m teams so going very well! This season however the lead has changed hands countless times which keeps that exciting! Winner will get £1,300 this season and I hope to make that bigger for next season

Yeah I try to keep things as interesting as I can so monthly leagues, a few cups, highest score comp etc still hard to keep 708 people happy but I try my best!

February Monthly League

1st Matthew Wait – 337pts £75

2nd Stephen Montague – 333pts £50

3rd Lee Palfreyman – 326pts £25

 

In a high scoring month mainly due to Sergio Aguero and any of you who have Liverpool defenders especially last night! Matthew maintained his lead at the top with Stephen and Lee improving in the last Gameweek to seal the other cash spots.

 

March’s Mini League starts this weekend so we are all back to zero so it’s all to play for again J

With the bonus midweek round of fixtures completed that brings us to end of the January monthly league and your winners for the month are

1st Dan Todd – 288pts £75

2nd Ben Mackenzie – 285pts £50

3rd Rick Ambler – 284pts £25

Congratulations to you 3 and especially Dan for his 62 point midweek haul which propelled him into 1st place by only 3 points from Ben with Rick just 1 point further back. Rick went into the midweek fixture with a 15 point gap at the top and probably odds on to scoop top prize but a less than average score for the round dropped him down a few places by the narrowest of margins but I hope you are still happy with your 3rd place finish and £25 prize!

February monthly league commences from this weekend (Gameweek 25 – Gameweek 28) so everyone starts back at zero and ready to go again!

I’m using my organising itnas an excuse but I can’t get within the top 200 of my league! ?

I see there’s been some new leaders recently in my league. Just looked the joint leaders are 629th overall out of the whole thing which has over 6 million entries!!! Great going

Congratulations to Peter who has narrowly won December’s mini league competition with a total of 432 points just ahead of Niall and Chris. Commiserations to 4th placed Matthew Robertson but I’m sure he can take positive viewing at being at the top of the overall league for the first time this season!

Congratulations to Richard Aidoo who is our League Cup Champion and wins £225 along with automatic qualification to the Champs League Cup after being victorious over Ronan McMillan by the smallest of margins. Joe Harts 1 point return in last night’s game enough to get Richard over the line. Commiserations to Ronan but I’m sure the runner up cash prize of £125 will help soften the blow.

Well done to Gaz Black on winning the 3rdprize of £50. Bad week for Lee Price unfortunately who not only loses out on the bubble but also lost his lead in the overall League standings for the first time in countless weeks at the top. I’m sure Lee will have plenty still to play for and will still be up there come seasons end!

Anyway that is the appetiser done with. Now onto the 2 Big Cups in the Champs League and Europa League. As you all know qualification has been ongoing these last few Gameweeks. This weekend, Gameweek 14 is the final week to determine who qualifies for the Champs League and who drops into the Europa. As a reminder it is the top 354 and ties from November’s monthly league competition who qualify. If you want to check out where you stand I suggest you take a look at the website. Please note this cannot be viewed using the App.

 

I will be in touch next week with details on who has qualified for each cup along with the group draws and how exactly both cups will be run.

Congratulations to Richard Aidoo and Ronan McMillan who have both successfully negotiated their way through 8 rounds of fellow competitors after both receiving a first round bye and now are the last 2 of 708 to contest the League Cup Final. Richard was able to battle passed Gaz Black in which all pended on how certain Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea top boys performed and Ronan very wisely used his Bench Boost chip to beat our League Leader Lee Price. Congratulations to you both.

 

It is harsh on the 2 losing semi-finalists however not all is lost! Not only will the final take place on Gameweek 13 (24th – 26th) November but so will the 3rd place playoff and a chance to take home some small consolation.

 

Unfortunately there is an international break but at least that gives you 4 plenty of time to look at your opponents team and try figure out if your team is good enough or do you need to use a chip………………
