My dad used to take us as kids to the amusement arcades by the sea, obviously it was just penny pushers and things at the time, but I guess from there the interest grew! Started playing the old 2p a spin £2.50 jackpot fruities, then the £5 jackpots and once I was 18, started going to the casino and playing online!
Welcome to the forum, Josh! I’m sure they’ll be plenty of people here interested in what you do and what you’ve got to say, so stick around! 🙂
1so that covers the basic spin all based on the split second you press start so quick spin or manual spin can be more effective than auto spins as they are as more random intervals but then moving on to bonus which isn’t really covered in that link, streams always refer to the programming when a 0 or 1 x bonus comes up, so are the bonus not played out the same as the base game
So regardless of when you spin, or the consistency of which, this has no determinable impact on the outcome. It’s random regardless, so there is no method which is more effective.
The zero bonus comment that streamers often make (I know Bandit does this one a lot), is because, the random spin string that was generated was worth nothing, however its “instructions” so to speak are to visually display a bonus round. The outcome is already determined (in most cases, not all), so why put the player through an entire bonus round just for a zero win. Hope I’ve explained that well enough and it makes sense.
Worst incident for me gambling was not actually the night recently which made me self exclude, it was a couple of years ago when in the space of one Friday-Sunday I went from a peak of £8k up to a low of £1.5k down, all on FOBTs.
That’s brutal on the FOBTs man. Bit off-topic, but I’m interested, how are you finding the self-exclusion at the moment? I know you were struggling a bit, more around filling the time, when you kicked it off, has it settled at all yet?
I believe @BioHazard summed it up perfectly in another thread, ill try and find it now.
I should probably save whatever I wrote last time, as this question comes up a lot and I always end up reinventing the wheel ?
With land-based slots, there are thousands of random strings generated each second, and the second you press spin, it stops and allocates you the win determined by that string. I’ve always assumed online slots work in a similar way, with these strings being generated on the providers server.
As to what data is held, basically each spin ID, date/time, user ID, amount wagered and amount won are all tracked. This information is held by both the casino and the provider. This information is never used to manipulate a future outcome. Online slots are not compensated like pub slots are.
Finally, as to reduced bonus buy record, bonus feature progress etc. on certain slots, I’ve always wondered this one. I guess the casino and the provider have a relationship where the user ID is shared, and the corresponding slot information is held on the providers server as to how much your bonus buy is on each stake etc. – almost like how cookies are saved on our internet browsers, only I guess these have to be much more robust, secure and durable.
1I actually just realised you said ex-wife… sorry! For some reason I read it as in it was your current wife and you were still together afterwards.
I sincerely apologise (although it is still a little funny…).
Do you have Windows 8? If so, try changing the keyboard setting from the charm bar, I think they can be two different keyboard settings for some reason. Poor design.
Try this bad boy:

Stepchange allow a couple of missed payments per year before they review and potentially close your plan, not sure if this covers the first payment (it should do), what did they say when you spoke to them?
As you said, this plan is affordable, it’s only because you had to fork out on an emergency house expense this month that meant that it wasn’t. So future months you should be okay! They normally (or used to) allow you to make a partial payment which they will apportion across your current creditors. Use your remaining funds (if any) to do this.
Also, you can definitely review your plan at any time if your situation changes. So if you feel the plan is too much, work with Stepchange and they’ll send out adjusted offers to your creditors.
Finally, these debts are just unsecured loans. They can sell them to a debt collection agency, fine, it doesn’t change anything. If you think they’ll come hounding you at your house, that is very, very unlikely. Some of them like to use scare tactics to get you to pay more than you can afford. Don’t fall into their traps. Just manage everything through Stepchange, the creditors at this point shouldn’t really even be dealing with you personally, once you are making regular payments via Stepchange.
All the best bud, things will get better, don’t give up.
I’m considering random draws where your forum reputation level is the number of times your name is entered. Richie mentioned a similar idea but i think that simplifies it, it just then tends to mean that the most active members of the forum are going to stand a better chance of winning and i think that is quite fair would you agree?
Perhaps i will knock together an award scheme where all sorts of different categories can also be recognised.
I’m still busy as fuck, i know it doesn’t seem like it with my Reel King antics etc but things are slow moving here, having to wait for this that and everything to fall in to place tbh
I love this idea.
Obviously I’m biased, but even if I was a new member I can see that it makes sense. Really promotes positive activity on the forum, as it’s not just solely based on post count, but on quality of your contributions and how this is perceived by others.
