You might be right! I contributed to this topic early and as is usual for me ‘in brief.’ The amount of guff spoken on here since is pretty mind boggling. I’ve never really taken to people to insist on playing ‘Devils Advocate’ as they are invariably a complete pain in the arse. There is a difference of course to playing devils advocate and stating an alternate opinion and I think what I’ve read here is the former.
So here’s what I think in short;
1. Bio and Eejit know what they are talking about.
2. If Eejit can exercise influence with success in the industry then that Is fantastic for players.
3. Regrettably no one should ‘trust’ their chosen Casino and should where possible check RTP to ensure their best gaming experience.
4. VS decision to reduce RTP across so many slot providers is a disgrace.
5. VS decision to hide their reduction away in a ‘non announcement’ news feed is an abuse of players.
6. VS are abusing their place as perhaps the most used Casino on the web, reducing RTP to help meet tax burdens and maintain profit and all the while hoping that over time many other Casino operators will follow suit to create a new norm.
My personal feeling about VS is this. They offer a good product – Clash of Spins, Wheel of Jackpots, Jackpot Chases, choice of games providers and games and are trading on their reputation. They are also expecting the player to blindly keep feeding money into their site and to either play blissfully unaware of reduced RTP’s or to simply take it on the chin.
For my part I now restrict my play at VS to Evolution Gaming product, BTG and participate in their Slot Battles. I also play at Bet365 where I’ll play other game providers at what I consider to be an acceptable RTP.
<span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>Bearing in mind how VS have behaved in this respect this is what I hope happens;</span>
a. They ultimately reverse their crass decision to take certain slots on reduced RTP and reaffirm their commitment to the UK market and the issue goes away.
b. Over time players desert VS or change their playing habits as I have done (see above) and they begin to lose traction in the market place. Losing traction in this context means losing players who trickle away to perhaps game elsewhere. Their status as an operator falls, their profits fall, their customer service levels drop, more players desert them and ultimately they go out of business.
I think their current modus operandi means the b. Scenario could happen but very often big business finds a way.
We as consumers need to be aware and place our spend appropriately.
