If you only deposited 50 pounds then what was your endgame for withdrawal?
I understand gambling gets a grip but when your over 160x up on your deposit surely you should be thinking of withdrawing.
I always try and tell a gambler to realise that any number on a screen is just that untill it’s in your hand or hits your bank account, you didn’t have 8grand becuase it’s just a pixel at that moment, so don’t try and chase it back if you lose a couple spins, just be happy that your still up and take what you have. I used to know someone that if they were up would play untikl they had two losing spins in a row (on roullette) and would walk away if that happened. Seemed a good strategy to me.
To be honest I was happy with what I had was just tired and not really thinking, I wasn’t even going to be playing roulette was looking for a certain slot but they didn’t have it and was to tired to think of another. I had withdrew 7,300 and was playing with the 8,800 or whatever and was thinking in the back of my head up to 10k or walk at 5.5k.
yeah it was from a £50 deposit, I had spent a few hundred the day before on a different site and frt I’d put some on my poker site to make it last and get more entertainment playing poker.
I appreciate your advice however I already know this, but the mind of a gambler i.e me, is full of wierd and wonderfuls and if I dont the right logical way of playing I would have cashed out at £1,7900 when I was up the first session. but deciced to go degen on teir x2 x2 x2 bet that paid about 5k, so I know what your saying but hindsight is a great thing. However that being said my betting on roulette was poor, if I was doing it I should have gone live and bet covering a few numbers.
Gambling orientated wise I took multiple payday loans out ended up owing £9k and 3 months rent, job was at risk for not being focused when there, due to stress and not looking after myself. took my pay of £900 (most of debts were dues in about 5 days) went bookies lost £630, caught a taxi for £85 to neigbouring city casino, as banned from the closer one. The taxi driver said, “where u going buddy?” I said, “casino” he was a reformed gambler and wished me luck asking how much I had to spend. when I told him and why I was going he took pity and said i’ll stay with you so when u lose I’ll give you a free lift home. I won 3k, went bookies in that city won 4k went back home won another 3k in my local bookies and crushed my local pub poker game for about £800. all in the space of about three days no sleep.
other stories involve being waking up to the blinding sun on seaside town prominades to sleepin in bushes after doing balls in the casino and not being able to get home. I particulary remember one winter day, not to cold though, when I walked to the train station to get home and thought yes I’ve got just enough for the fare on my debit card. I sat there for about 2hrs thinking where the hell is this train…. a voice from a guy in a hi-viz jacket on the otherside of the stations shouted , “hey mate! are you waiting for a train?” puzzled and thinking, what the f*ck do you think I’m doing sat here, I said “eer yeah mate!” he said,” you’ll be waiting a long time there’s no tracks they dug them up yesterday”…. lowandbehold I lean over to no tracks haha. It was a fcking sunday to so taxi’s were extortinate. luckily the train company had provided a free bus to the next station.
other stories involve having guns pulled on me and my mate in a nearby night club one gambling alcohol fueled night, other stories involve 50K bags of money to be delivered to london, allnight private poker games with some very questionable characters. waking up to find a homeless heroine addict on my coach, I had forgot, while drunk, I had decided to invite in cos it was a really cold evening.(my mates say how do you get yourself into these situations, lol).
and plenty more stories that I can’t repeat for fear of putting my self in trouble haha.
2maybe check your youtube settings. 1. click upload then menu then channel then youtube studio then change the age restriction to over 18’s, it might be the problem. another issue could be if you use google+, google+ is ceasing to exist these coming months and alot of platforms are inter-related so this may be causing a problem, as the first stage of google+ ‘s dismantlement is the removale of access to saved video’s. just a though. so just incase people weren’t aware as I wasn’t( due to I hardly ever use my gmail email) if you have any documents pictures and many other things in a multiple of platforms related to google+ you’ll need to download and save those aswell as after deleting your accounts.
1Yikes why was there even 20p split stakes on any number
brutal lose there pal . How much did you deposit to win all that
£50
Unlucky pal, bit of a tough one to swallow there, maybe take a break for a bit.
Having said that, I would make 2 points of constructive feedback.
1. When playing roulette at those stakes, I would only ever play live wheels as it is so easy for a digital statem just swallow your money. I know people will claim “magnets” but there is no such thing, fact. It’s not even a point up for debate.
2. I would suggest working on your betting strategy as you are seemingly havens gamblers mindset known as “loss aversion”. It’s where you can’t bare to lose so you back all outcomes. Most of your numbers are not profitable and so it will destroy you in the long run. Let’s say you are staking £1,500 and have a minimum return of £360 (worst number has £10). You are willing to risk losing £1,140 so just stake that amount on the numbers you actually want. You will end up far better off when you win, and the same if you lose.
Just some friendly advise, hope your luck picks
yeah I appreciate the kind words. I’m aware of the this info but for some reason my brain wasn’t engaged. tired from staying up all night b4 building it and I wasn’t playing this one much before a different one I won on. I actually wanted to play monte but forgot as I was scrolling through the slots. I did have a bash at live but the croupier was a bit shifty in his spinning. but thanx for the advice though appreciate it:)

Just wanted to get other peoples thoughts on the posible use of subliminal grapgics on some casinos? I can not prove that it is being used but it would not be hard to do. for instance if you had a red rectangle then within that rectangle you could spell out a word or phrase or even a symbol but is a slightly lighter or darker colour tone which the eye might not detect but the subconsious would? I know some sites use fancy graphics which is all gambling related but subliminal content is not uncommon! the rectangle or what ever shape was used doesnt even need to be big just barely visible.
Let me know what you guys think, would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
thanks
I’ve a friend who knows a man who helped in developing fobt software, he is based in the USA and they apparently looked at incorporating facial recognition into them so so your theory isn’t a million miles a way from what might be true
The thing with gambling is, it’s bollocks.
Its literally chucked down our throats, it’s not regulated in anyway and they cover their backs with ‘if the fun stops, stop’ wowee
Not enough is done to help those who are addicted or have beaten the addiction. They banned alcohol advertisements because of the negative impact they were having on children, but 80% of adverts of TV are encouraging men and women in the UK to gamble. It’s just wrong.
Youre watching the football, there’s adverts for the latest odds, the programme continues, the players walk out, they squeeze another advert in before kick-off. Rinse and repeat.
Imagine being a former addict addict and then seeing these adverts plastered all over your screen. It’d be enough to drive anyone insane. They’re even advertising bingo constantly to women before the soaps etc. It’s advertised on daytime television. You just can’t get away from it, it needs to stop.
18+ products should be a ‘if you know about it’ thing and that’s it. It shouldn’t be advertised and normalised as much as it is.
Hi Michael ? I liked this post… As your trying to look out for the kids and the addict.
As you have an understanding of addiction from reading your previous posts & that great win you got, you yourself realise its not always about self control, as an addict has not got that once the bug hits… Unfortunately the capitalist world we live in the products take 1st priority as long as there not damaging anyone’s health. Alcohol and cigarettes were always going to get restricted but gambling has been opened up to the masses, which in a lot of peoples mind is wrong…. We had major problems in the past with gambling 60’s mostly due to illegal means mostly, then the Labour Party decided to open the game back up again. The main problem I have is as you say the advertising 2nd is the amount of available bookmakers in poorer areas. And these subjects can only be attacked through your local MP’s and Government action.
Someone your age (I assume your young) who lives a modest life at University and has experience in gambling could use this experience to send letters emails etc to your local MP to help address these situations, because no one else really does, it would be a good 2nd course for your Uni maybe or extra course work, maybe look into it, and ask around your friends to see if any of them are interested in coming along for the experience in helping the community. Gather signatures and start a action plan, to help curtail the advertising & amount of places to gamble.
I feel like this could be a passion for someone like yourself ? and is why I replied to your post, and as its not about stopping people from enjoying themselfs but helping the addict. Thanks Michael ????
I know I know but It’s Tuesday morning and I’m bored ???
