I’m also here for the banter. I don’t really care what stakes Bandit or others play. I think this is a bit OTT though – online isn’t as seedy as bookies roulette and there are plenty of people who can afford to play at more than £2. I would like to see something like £2 max unless you can pass some affordability test (something like a credit reference from your bank).
I was always under the impression that if you play the same game, the RTP is the same at any casino. Thanks for this. Funny enough VS effectively closed my account a couple of weeks ago because I was winning too much
If you can still get into your account, take screenshots galore. Build up a paper trail. Amounts like that, they’re not going to just send you the money. You’ll likely have to make a strong case and be very careful not to give them anything else as leverage beyond the simple mistake.
Not a lawyer but my guess is that if you do need to take it to court, and if you can afford to, there is a good chance the judge will take the common sense argument that they were happy to take your money. Try to find another solution though – legal action is expensive and there’s no guarantee you’ll win. At that amount, is likely the losing party would pay costs.
Don’t do anything else in the mean time, e.g. leaving bad reviews.
1I think another reason they might have removed is it was never clear what the RTP on bonus buys actually was. They have to publish the number for the base game but it always seemed like the bonus buys paid significantly less.
I think Megaways and bonus buys have produced games focused on extracting the most money from addicts. Glad to see them to. Only one I ever played was White Rabbit for £10 and I will miss that – it was a fun game.
I predict UKGC taking a similar stance on games focused on building something up over hundreds or thousands of spins, e.g. lil devil and kingmaker.
It is “hobby level”. I know there are a lot of people that ganble a lot more, especially as a % of their income. I go to Vegas every year and drop a few 1000s, and I’m ok with it, because I get my favourite week of the year out of it, a nice environment, amazing food, free-flowing drinks…
But £300/month online gets me a bit of light entertainment while I’m having a poo. This is what I mean by depressing – when you think about what you actually get for it, it’s a lot of money. The numbers I gave as my best guess.
I have tried longer self-exclusions and I end up signing up for other sites. I like the idea of putting a 24 hour ban in place after a session, though. Thanks. That seems like something I could do without later convincing myself it was a dumb idea.
