Addiction exists, Everything is OK in moderation and its down to the individual to change, no one else.

Sometimes, for reasons unknown to myself I will gamble way more than I should, and don’t win. The casino existing makes this possible, but is it their fault? No, it’s mine.

every day I buy a minimum of a four pack from my local shop.. The Indian guy sells them to me everyday sometimes 8 sometimes 16, is it his fault that I have a drinking problem? No, I’m an adult and am making my own bad decisions.

On the flip side there are people who enjoy a drink every now and again and an affordable flutter on the slots and have no negative consequences, does my bad behavior mean they shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy it responsibley? Because it’s availability might fuck people like me up? No. We all need to take responsibility for our actions regardless how painful it is to admit that you and no-one else spent a month’s wages in 20mins or drank so much you blacked out and end up in court. Its still your fault. Its hard to accept your own fuck ups and its so much easier to blame others but we all have them, we all need to take ownership of them. At that point and only that point can you begin to rebuild.

For context I’m an ex drug addict, borderline alcoholic and a compulsive gambler, I understand the beast and I battle it as best I can.

Sort of like owning a Ferrari – is it the sellers fault you are paying a huge fine, or your own fault for doing 150 mph down the motorway 🙂

reminds me of the guy who tried to sue McDonalds as he said that eating there 3 times a day had made him obese and affected his health and they should have taken more care of him.

Why should I be denied a Big Mac just because some greedy fat bastard can’t control his own urges and wants to blame other people 🙂

I don’t mean to be too critical, but why is the option Unemployment / Universal Credit. Surely you’ve gained skills in that time working for one of the biggest firms in the country and earning a good wage that would enable you to easily earn more than universal credit will pay.

I understand your view but if you look on various websites you will find jobs where there are 600 applications for one Jakob.   The firm I work for had 440 applications for one relatively low paid job.   Jobs which pays)3k a month attract a lot of attention and are highly competed

as to making money on line, I don’t want to be pessimistic but the market is flooded, and most of the ones on offer are either scams, or like eight black said, a total waste of time.   Do surveys, earn big money – half you aren’t eligible for and the other half pay you 75p for an hour of your time.   Minimum withdrawal £10 and the survey emails stop arriving when you get to £9.95 🙂

Every penny I ever put into a machine I did of my own free will, it’s no one else’s fault.

I don’t like the advertising which promotes a false picture, but then again it’s a business, I also detest the way staff in bookies immediately offer to remove the £50 limit to enable you to lose more (that one really pisses me off), but I guess they are probably told they have to do that, pretty much like the poor guy behind the counter at Poundland who has to ask everyone if they want chocolate 1000 times a day.

It has always been my decision, and I understand the sickness aspect but the option is to refuse to serve anyone in case they get addicted thereby penalising many who are in control and enjoy it.

Doesn’t mean I’m not going to laugh my tits off every time a bookies is forced to close over the next 6 months though 🙂

ive got to beat them for my 6 month old little girl, and yer the apps great gives me a little motavational quote every morning. i was just getting my hair cut and there was a bookies across the road and i was sweating to go in, then i looked at your replys and it gave me a kick to walk past

Keep it going – just to put it into perspective, i have that same weakness, walked into the bookies the other day and lost a couple of hundred quid in 5 minutes, but I walked out with some left purely because I thought only 3 days to go, I’m hanging on to my cash.   In the past I would have carried out just knowing my number would come in (which it doesnt) – but my point is that’s how fast it will eat your money, although I suspect you already know.

Keep that app going, keep that money in your pocket and think how much more fun it is buying shit for your little girl and seeing her face light up

t’s good that the true dark side is tolerated, just a little eye opening that this conversation face too face with ‘punters’ is easy to understand while here online on a forum where ‘punters’ don’t know me, have taken it personal with denial.

No one is denying there is a dark side to gambling, thats a fact which everyone is aware of, and many as EightBlack has stated have experienced it.

The point everyone is trying to make is that it is pointless haranguing a lowly paid call centre worker for it – what will it achieve other than to make him feel a bit more depressed.   I’m sure there are members of this forum who have worked in that environment and have taken shit on a daily basis for the actions of their employers.

If an individual is pissed off about gambling losses or the impact of the gambling business, write to someone who has power or influence, don’t take it out on some 19 year old lad who may have only started that day in the first job he has every had !

Anyway I am off to tear a strip off the checkout girl at the local supermarket as she is selling alcohol to people and her business is making a profit from an item that ruins lives.

I’m sure she will then ponder the fact that she is personally making a huge profit out of other peoples misery as she gets soaking wet while waiting at the bus stop in the rain as she doesn’t earn enough to buy a car or even a decent coat 🙂

Struggling to understand the point of this post.   Ranting at some guy who is on minimum wage and is working purely to pay his bills or feed his family does an individual no credit.

Everyone knows that gambling causes problems and suicides, everyone knows that you are going to lose when gambling on a casino site.

Giving grief to a random stranger on the net who is just trying to get through his shift and is personally making no profit out of it himself is just taking out  frustrations on an innocent party – which makes the individual doing it no better than the casino he is attacking.

It’s not HIS slots he is just doing a day job

otal debts around 10k most of which I’ve got payment plans in place but it was an outstanding council tax from 2015 for 1.7k which is with debt collector’s. I imagine they’ve been sending letters to a previous address for years which is why it’s escalated into this

Council tax can be included in DRO’s provided a final notice has been issued.

If you can milk your expenses enough it could bring you below the £50, you may just need some creative accounting

Im in for a fuck ton, not gambling related (wish it was) wanted to do the DRO but im sure i read that you have to have a less than 50 quid left a month to be eligible please tell me if im wrong cause ill fucking hop on that haha! I did for some time go on a DMP which was gonna take me 53years to pay off and pay the company so sacked that right off.

ou may be able to get a DRO if all of the following things apply to you:

you’re unable to pay your debts
your debts are worth up to £20,000
you’ve got £50 or less left over each month after you’ve paid your usual household expenses
    you don’t own your home
other savings or things of value you own, called assets, are worth less than £1,000 (some assets are ignored when working out the value)
you don’t own a car worth £1000 or more, unless it’s one that’s been specially adapted because you have a disability

Not sure if you have considered a DRO

While a DRO is in force:

you don’t have to make payments towards most types of debt included in your DRO
your creditors can’t force you to pay off the debts.
At the end of the DRO period, usually around a year:

your debts will be written off
you’re still responsible for paying off any that aren’t included in the DRO – this is because DROs don’t cover all debts.
    To apply for a DRO:

there’s a fee of £90. If you can’t afford to pay the fee you may be able to get help towards the cost from some charities
you have to go to a DRO adviser, also called an approved intermediary – you can’t submit your own application. You can find a DRO adviser at most local Citizens Advice Bureaux.

OK, I’m not a doggie. A sheep or any farmyard animal.  I treat Bandits high stake videos like I would any episode I don’t like on Tv. I skip through it and wait for the next instalment.

In any case this far more entertaining, an individual telling people on a forum that they are dogs, with small dick syndrome, while telling  othersthat their post are like a 12 year old posting – the irony of it is highly amusing.

PS – it you shout you will never post here again and turn up again minutes later it creates credibility issues 🙂
