Has anyone ever quit there job and started up there own venture? I’ve had a few ideas and day dreams about different things, most recently I’ve been thinking of getting one of those ice cream trike things and selling ice cream on the beaches around here in the summer

Any ideas for cheap to start ventures? I cant deal with working to make my boss richer while I remain skint.. The cunt turned up in a £115k Aston Martin the other day, the limited addition James bond one.. Then he told me the extra hour I do in the mornings won’t be paid as overtime as he can’t afford it! so I should think of it as professional courtesy..

Just looked at that Ice Cream thing out of interest

a new ice cream van can cost upwards of £60,000, a five year old one averages about £12,000, a new trailer might cost around £10,000 and a trike or cart might be as low as £3,000.  Then you have to add in the trading permit and the start up capital for your stock, along with somewhere to store it.  It’s also pretty seasonal

Good money to be made in the summer depending on competition, in your area I am guessing it is pretty steep and it only takes a couple of rainy days to completely screw your calculations over

Problem is always the start up capital in any business though and the need to continue paying bills while you generate income.  Do you have a specific skill which you could not so much sell to a boss but use to sell stutf.

Another alternative is franchises, although yet again you have to have the money to throw up front.

I will be a worker bee all my life 🙂

I tried online bingo as it was hyped as fun and a way to chat with people.  Got a free fiver to try and thought here comes some highly entertaining thought provoking conversation.

After 10 minutes of reading 3TG, 1TG, 4TG, I had lost the will to live, and don’t believe those TV ads are that irritating fox, none of the individuals playing this game are hot blondes dressed in tight fitting clothes living in plush houses 🙂

LOL – first spin ever I had 20p on 0 and won £7.20 (still remember it) – at the time I thought this is easy money.

In the end I was provided right, it was easy money, for the Bookies 🙂

It seems that an expired passport is valid as ID pretty much everywhere except in banks who have a legal obligation in relation to offering dodgy bank accounts.

Oh and Casinos who have a self appointed moral obligation to hold on toyour cash as long as possible 🙂

Or to Put it another way, you can’t give a bank your cash to hold without valid ID, but a casino will accept it even if it’s just been handed to you by Pablo Escobar.  It’s only potential drug money when you want it back 🙂

The slots have been poor for me over the last 2 years, I was a bookies gambler but had to change because of my fobt habit hence the change to online slots, I’m going back to betting in the bookies now from April, I’ve closed all but one of my online casinos I use which is 21.com and I’ve limited that to £200 a month.

Always been a bookies gambler and like you am staying out at the moment until 1 Apr

Assuming it’s the same for any company holding funds, obviously, the more they delay, the better. Sure, silly things to talk about when John want’s to withdraw £24 that he won from a email giving 10 free spins on Starburst.

But what about when millions of people are withdrawing hundreds and thousands….

Seems legit to me.

I have no idea whether casinos are making interest on the money they hold in the client funds account, but if they are it means a £3k withdrawal pending for 3 days (which is way, way longer than average for a withdrawal of that size to be approved) would net the casino a whopping 2.5 pence in interest.

Sorry Argyl I both agree and disagree with some of what you have said but this comment is being slightly obtuse to my mind.

You can’t try to lessen the amount of money the casinos are gaining by quoting figures of 35p a day and 2.5p over 3 days, while ignoring the aggregation principle.

Case in point, if you were to withhold £10,000.000 of withdrawals every day for a year the figure would be more substantial

Now I’m not saying those figures are accurate in anyway, just trying to add some balance to your 3.5p interest comment.

Im pretty sure the casino follow the supermarket principle that every penny counts

And as everyone says, the longer in your online account the more chance you have to lose it.   Perhaps an automatic non reversible lockdown by the casinos on all funds as soon as the withdrawal request was made would remove the players view, which is probably correct, that’s it’s just a scummy casino method to try and get there money back.

They would probably get it back anyway eventually, why not show a bit of good faith
