Personally i dont think the changes made to fobts will make a blind bit of difference to the bookies .
I think it’s already impacting. Previously you could spin up to £300 a minute on roulette, and there was always a queue waiting to use the machines.
I went in once after the change, most of the machines were free and the money I would normally have lost in 2 x £50 spins lasted me hours.
Guy behind the counter said they were already seeing the reduction in takings, even on day one
or i wont have any teeth and would look a proper twatWord on the street is you look a proper twat anyway even with teeth 🙂 🙂 🙂
1If I could chip in I would but got a 10month old baby and my girlfriend is a student nurse and I’ve had to reduce my hours to 30 per week as childcare is beyond expensive. In addition my working tax credit and child benefit got reduced as I reduced my hours not sure how that works but apparently it’s correct.
I would do a quick check with Citizens advice on that. I understand that tax credits reduce if you work <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>less than</span> 30 hours a week, but I have surfed the net and can’t find anywhere that it states your child benefit is reduced unless you earn over £50k a year
How do you know this?
I think it was someone on this site who said that they don’t actually lose money but get to keep 25% of winnings (I assume to a certain level) to pay for their customer generation through streaming
1Once it is in the machine money just becomes numbers on a screen and you get the buzz from watching it go up and down, the adrenalin rush from seeing a big win come in, the gradual onset of depression as you watch your numbers go down and the sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach as you realise that you have just lost £1k in the time it takes to watch an episode of GOT.
All these are emotions in a world that has become jaded, we are bombarded with information from all sides, TV, Radio etc and fewer and fewer things make us feel alive anymore. You watch a bombing on TV with hundreds dead, and you switch channels because their is an interesting documentary of whales on the other side. You see a huge car crash and you don’t empathise, you just video it to upload to you tube.
The gambling is close and personal to you, that’s why it excites, I’ve been through all those stages as we all have. When you know you have had enough is when you don’t even enjoy winning. You go into the bookies with £1k, win a couple of hundred pounds and feel sick to the stomach that you even considered risking that money in the first place.
And yet we go back, because it triggers something in the brain that makes you feel alive
It’s actually good news in some ways, it means he has accomplished what he set out to do initially. He seems a really nice guy and it’s good that he seems to have achieved his initial goal, although I know he has moved on to other endeavours. I wish I had his personal drive.
More importantly these videos take a significant amount of time to generate, render and upload, time he could be spending with his young family. If he doesn’t need the money, and always remember the law of diminishing returns, the more you make the more the tax man takes, then it is right to cut down the work and spend time with his wife and son.
I don’t watch them so much now, that’s purely because as someone said earlier, the money doesn’t seem to matter so much to him, and I need to empathise with losses and wins, eg it has to hurt if you lose £2k or vice versa.
For me his greatest achievement for his customers has not been delivering his videos, but setting up this forum, where like minded people can chat, support each other, and general vent or celebrate.
I see a time in the future when the government has no where else to crack down, that they will target affiliation and gambling videos on social media, seeing them as a form of advertising to easily influenced young people. Perhaps the Bandit is aware of this and is focusing elsewhere to make his £1m – I hope he makes it
Didn’t that guy on here practically destroy his life chasing that swarm. Something like £5k or £6k an it returned £200x on a £4 stake.
Never be fooled by streamers posting big Swarm wins on you tube. Keep in the back of your mind that a number of them have the sole aim of encourage sign ups, which they don’t get by broadcasting 768 bee swarms which pay 100x 🙂
I have a serious question i have played a few FOBT’s and have lost won etc but i don’t go looking for then etc. My question is do you think these changes made to the stake will stop you or other people gambling on them like you used to meaning that the change worked ? hope that made sense lol
It has worked. I went inon my payday before this one as I always used to and they had converted to £2 roulette, where I used to do £50 spins and lose stacks.
tried a couple of spins on £2 roulette. Got bored and played the 20p slots for an hour or so. Haven’t been back since 🙂
I do taxi driver as the pin numbers for my logins do can check what I have earned so she will take over that as wellJust make sure you hand over your tips or you she will automatically assume you are gambling with them. It’s they way their mind works – even when women say they trust you they don’t trust you. Hell, I wouldn’t trust me 🙂
Hi themadchef just thought would say thanks for sharing your story , also thanks for last night for offer9uou help and advice, just a note to say been a long 24 hours told the wife everything and I mean everything about what I have gambled and borrowed these last 4 years whe the gambling gripped me hard so had a lot of soul searching and she is letting me stay but can’t gamble ever 7, did gamestop and she come with me to local bookies and had to self exclude there that was hard and emotional the women in there are lovely known them a lot longer before fobts grabbed me by the bollocks she took over the bank accounts as well and j the job I do taxi driver as the pin numbers for my logins do can check what I have earned so she will take over that as well start of a very long road now and with the support of my wife and 3 daughter’s who no it all will get there just emotionally drained having a few days of Till Tuesday then starting afresh , so once again thanks and I am glad you shared your story with us all and great you are doing well and great about 4lad living with you cheers everyone
So happy for you – don’t even look at a slot, a bookies or touch anything to do with gambling. Apart from your wife just take a look at your 3 daughters and imagine what it would be like visiting them every Sunday, and sitting in a bedsit the other 6 days.
Just bear in mind your wife is still going to give you a hard time occasionally and let it go, she has earned that right. You now need to repay her for standing by you when you have let her down. That’s not a criticism, just a statement of fact which I am sure you have faced up to
I was trying to think a of a slot to liken it to and Millionaire came to mind.
The odds of you winning £500 on that machine are probably significantly worse than getting the bonus and:
Picking A on the ask the audience question when A is sat at 5%, and getting it right
Then being asked to pick 50/50 when there are 19 boxes to choose from.and again getting it right
If you actually got phone a friend, I suggest his response to the questions would “what are you playing that piece of shit for”
With the original roulette if you bet £50 you could have those a number covered and have 13 fallback positions to make a profit, on this game you have no fallback numbers, and bear in mind I once did around 170 spins chasing 0.. On that basis, if you actually hit the green bar every 15 spins (unlikely) and then chased 0, you could theoretically deposit £5100 to “win” a £500 jackpot. with no payouts to balance that as you get in slots
If you feel you have to gamble, stick to the slots, that £1200 will last far longer and at least you have a reasonable chance of hitting a big win (and I don’t mean the £12 developer BIG WIN_)
Please don’t take this the wrong way Beagle, I have been a roulette addict so I understand the attraction.
But if you are prepared to stick £1200 into a machine, gambling £2 a time to get the chance to gamble at horrific odds you are probably better self excluding.
i don’t even want to know what the odds of hitting a decent win in those new roulette machine is, but winning £500 must be almost impossible.
Not only is the spin much shorter, but I have heard tales of 76 spins (£152) before an individual even got to spin the wheel at the max £30 stake, which he lost.
Look at it this way, with that max £30 spin, you can only cover 2 numbers on the board out of 37 to win £500 – what are the odds on those hitting.
A pointless game to my mind, which all punters should stay away from to send the message to the bookies that their ass raping days are over
I once got the maximum 50 spins on Bar X playing £2 a spin in an arcade, rubbed my hands together and thought couple of hundred pounds at least, or jackpot.
Bonus paid £8
1And try not to laugh at me if its daft
If it is daft post it on the site so we can all laugh at her 🙂 -) 🙂
1I don’t watch the guy, can’t stand his constant pissing and whining about how his 23rd Bonanza bonus in the last 50 spins only paid him a measly £800 on £2 stake.
Can someone summarise for me whatever the changes are we’re talking about here?
I’m with you on that one, he seems a pretty angry guy
Bandit to his old cat – Here you go press the key for the gamble
Paul OSC to his cat – Hang on a minute, the cat needs letting out
Dazza to his old cat – That fucking cat, I hate that cat,.that fucking cat wants to come in again.
Probably hated his cat because he didn’t get a bonus on his 9th spin
