When did the Bandit begin? I remember I started following the Bandit around May 2017 because Danger High Voltage was brand new. I’m pretty sure he is pre-2017 though. The other gambling channel for me is Stop & Step from mid-2016 onwards. Like @StevieG said, Bandit, Stop & Step and Rolla were the original wave.
Then at some point in 2017, that ship had sailed and the imitators came along.
Good shout on Hypalinx. Beside the Bandit, the genuine personalities for me are: Rolla, Dazza G, Kim / Letsgiveitaspin and Stop & Step.
I’m not 100% sure on Ryan Slots. He has a very calm personality but he doesn’t interact with his viewers so he loses a few points there.
Back on topic, Chipmonkz: I followed him for about 18 months until shortly into the 1st UK lockdown (Spring 2020). He vastly increased his content, which to me seemed like he was taking advantage of the government’s stay-at-home order. The other gambling channels channels didn’t do that. Also, I tried to make suggestions e.g. if you press F11, it puts your web browser into full screen and this it gives you around 10% extra screen area. I later realised that I got shadow-banned. That’s where you can see your own comments but it’s not visible to others i.e. your own comments have been de-listed.
I’ve just watched this Tuesday’s 6PM video. I’m still liking the bonus hunt format. What makes this different from the other channels is that the Bandit doesn’t announce a line-up at the start. He might say what the last couple of games are towards the end of the video, but I like the surprise of not knowing what most of them are. Good selection of games too – a mixture of well loved classics with some new games and a good handful that I’ve never seen before.

My first paragraph was reference the Bandit!
Does anyone remember that used to release 3 videos per week in 2017? It was usually a Sunday, a Tuesday and a Thursday. Then we got used to him doing Sundays only then it became less frequent. Now he’s upping his content to around 1 a day but no more than 1 a day. I think that’s fair play to him because 1 per day is still manageable to watch and it’s not taking advantage of the covid situation.
Chipmonkz, on the other hand, used to release 1 video per day, again manageable and I liked his sidekick Jord. Then the channel tripled their content overnight to capitalise on the boom in online gambling upon lockdown. Also, I felt that it was an unfair advantage over other channels that were still operating at the same frequency as pre-covid. Subscribers can only watch so much material per day before they become couch potatoes.
That missing symbol on reel 2 (or any reel), or any near-misses where a 3rd scatter misses by 1 position is known as “gambler’s” fallacy. The fallacy is by design and slots have been doing it for decades. The mentioning of Megaways / max Megaways is a red herring.
Another example of gambler’s fallacy is on roulette. This is where the wheel has landed on black for the last 8 spins, so you bet on red thinking that red is due but it lands on black again.
Outlawing bonus buys just further proves how incompetent government / authorities are. This is because:
1) You can bet £100+ per spin on roulette and other table games
2) You can play Blueprint “all action” slots e.g. Diamond Mine All Action
3) You can play Barcrest “big bet” slots e.g. Ooh Aah Dracula
4) You can bet £100+ per spin on Monopoly Live and Dream Catcher
If the authorities wanted to do this, then they should have either done it properly or not done it at all. It’s like trying to ban all fast food restaurants but McDonald’s and Burger King are still allowed.
700X on White Rabbit.
Obviously not a patch on you hardened gamblers! 😀
Grinding out the bonuses takes minimal effort. I don’t think it’s relevant who does that bit. What is relevant is that the Bandit opens them.
I do a bonus hunt once a month while working from home as I’m still locked down here. I work on my company laptop, and that sits next to my own laptop and just set the slot off on autos while I’m doing my work. When I hear the trigger sound, I close it down and start up the next slot. Keep doing this until I run out of money. Then after work, I open up the bonuses for my gambling friend to watch via Skype or Zoom using desktop sharing.
Doing a bonus hunt this way works best on slots that have an interesting feature but not an interesting base game.
Great to see you back Bandit and I really enjoyed your Monday video.
You queried about keeping the inbetween bits in or not, and I’d say yes keep them in. It will help with features that start suddenly like Book/Legacy of Dead and game sequences like Jammin’ Jars.
Good all-round result and I prefer bonus hunts as it’s less degenerate although I have noticed at least 1 poster in this thread who preferred the degenerate side.
I’ve been on FB for 4 years but I still don’t know what I’m doing on there. When people are just pushing the like button, I find it impersonal. On forums like here, people do actually interact with each other by writing replies.
It’s the Bandit’s prerogative to whether he uploads once a week or once a month. The fact that he didn’t ramp up his videos during the covid / lockdown situation makes him a genuine person imo.
Stop and Step is another genuine channel imo. He filmed a mixture of arcades, bookies and online pre-covid, and then during covid he did online only but he didn’t ramp up his overall content. 2 or 3 videos per week on average like before.
Compare this to another channel, Chipmonkz, a channel that has been taking advantage of covid by churning out 3 videos per day. This is knowing that punters are more home-based now. That doesn’t come across as genuine to me.
Does anyone know what it is that gets the Bandit banned, and yet channels such as Casino Grounds and Let’s Give It A Spin can carry on regardless? There must be something that the Bandit is doing differently?
As for Twitter, I’m not familiar with Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat etc. I stay on the forum as it’s a familiar format. On a forum, you know where your posts are. On Twitter, you never know where your posts end up.
Thanks Winningbird and Eejit 🙂
I didn’t know about the tax increase. I guess we’ll have to hold our breath now and see what other legislation his party brings out over their next 5 years in power. I think we have an annual budget this March.
P.S. this might be a re-post, as I had “ERROR: Are you sure you wanted to do that?” when I tried to post.
I’m with Royal Panda and I had the same email. Interestingly, the bottom of my email said:
“Royal Panda is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), and is incorporated under the corporate license of LeoVegas Gaming p.l.c.”
Does that mean they’re the same owners as LeoVegas?
What are the main decisions / implications of an online casino leaving the UK market? My other online gambling site is Video Slots, and my quota is £50 per month on both Panda and VS. So when Panda goes, I will probably increase my limit on VS to £100 to keep my gambling spends at the same amount. I’m not interested in signing up to any more gambling sites. Just keep it as the one now.
