Could this be that casinos are removing BTGs because of the new (April 2019) gambling taxes?  VS in particular have been lowering the slot RTP to approx. 94% by selecting a lower maths model, which most providers offer.  BTG slots only had 1 maths model, typically 96%, so having BTGs still on board meant less profit for the wealthy execs (in their air-conditioned boardroom) and the shareholders.  Hopefully this is just tin foil hats, but this thread has generated suspicion in me and I tend to be cynical.

A shame because BTG is (or was) my favourite provider.

I’m up for that.  Backinamo is a busy forum and the Bandit videos each get over 1000 views.  So I think a year-end poll would get plenty of votes 🙂

In early December in the current year, readers would put forward their favourite 3 slots of the year.  Use your judgement e.g. Bandit Sunday slots and other channels to check the slots’ debut year is from the current year.  The Bandit or Seedy would then populate all of the reader slots, taking out duplicates, into a single list.  These are the shortlisted slots.

In late December, every reader would cast 1 vote on their most favourite slot.  Then like in an election, the votes are counted and arranged into a top 10 or top 25 depending on how big the poll becomes.

That’s only my suggestion though.  I think other people should suggest their own system, discuss, and see which one appeals to the most.

Another system that I can think of is what the Bandit did with the White Rabbit competition.  So put the slots into pairs and a voting round kicks off for each paring.  The slot from each paring that gets the less votes are knocked out and the other slot goes through to the next round.  And so on.

I never understood why Starburst is heavily marketed and hyped up by the casinos?  Yes it looks pretty and colourful, but if you want to play something similar then stick with Queen of Riches.

Starburst would suit land-based better as I think it has a 500x jackpot and hence become an arcade game.

@Bandit – your setup (the kids being off now) is the norm.  I come from a family of teachers from multiple areas and they all broke up last Friday.  The general rule is that you break up on a Friday in late July but still allowing a full week of July for week 1 of the summer holidays.  This means that the date falls in the region of 18th-24th July.

I’ve certainly never known of schools to be open again in late August.  Following the above July 18th-24th rule, students would be back in school in the region of 2nd-8th September.  Plus, if the teachers had a Baker day / PD day / Inset day on the first day of term, the students would go back a day later, so the 3rd-9th September for the students.  This was the case for me when I was in school and 6th form.

I don’t work too well in the heat, so I got a mini fridge-sized air con unit at home.  Keeps the room running nicely at 20C and it doesn’t use that much.  750W when maxed out, compared to a small heater that uses 3kW maxed out.

At work, only the important people (read: boardroom execs!) and the server room has a/c.

The buses are greenhouses, and that’s my only transport option.  In Germany though, their buses turn their a/c on as soon as it hits 24C.  In the UK though, drivers will put the heating on without hesitation when it’s 19C outside.  Arriva – this is you!

Roll on early autumn, late Sep / early Oct time.

I think the reason why you don’t often see big multiplier wins on the bigger stakes (£10+) is because the funds run out quicker and thus gives the slot less opportunity to dish out that big multiplier.

It baffles me how many people think the RTP gets lower for you because people are winning.

The shocking thing is, plenty of croupiers and casino workers that I speak to also think this. Common misconception!

I think it stems from history, and how pub slots work.

Agreed.  This is the difference between random and compensated.  Both will stick to a percentage, let’s say 90%.

    – Random means that every game you play have no bearing on each other and the 90% comes from the slot’s maths model.  This applies mainly to video slots from online gambling, land casinos and arcades.

    – Compensated means that every game you play does have bearing on each other and the machine runs on a cycle.  This applies to fruit machines which you find in pubs, nightclubs, arcades, cafés, railway stations, airports, fairgrounds and holiday camps.  Compensated also applies to club machines.  These are found anywhere that is pay-walled, again nightclubs but also membership clubs e.g. a snooker club or dance lessons where you have to pay to get in.

I just gamble once on the spins side, so 13 spins starting at 1x, and let that run its course.  Otherwise it gets degenerate.  Had a few belters on that set-up, being being just shy of 400x.

Think of red (instead of green) as being invincible mode on a fruit machine.  Would pay jackpot which is 100x.

T2 can take north of 100 features before you see the first hot mode.  The quickest I’ve seen it come for anyone was Letsgiveitaspin a couple of years ago when they managed to hit it on their 77th feature.

I would have agreed with you if you said offline gambling, as that is utter dog now.

There is still a bit of life left in online gambling.  Remember some providers such as BTG have fixed maths models which the casinos cannot change.  Their only choice would be to take those games down if they care about their wallets too much.

I think DoA2 is going to be one of those slots like Terminator 2.  You’re waiting for the “hot mode” feature.  The number of features that you have before you hit a hot mode can be north of 100.

I have heard that the new bookies machines are problematic.  RTP as low as 86% on some of the stakes!!

As a gambler myself, I had a good run in the arcades for nearly 20 years, but the slots soured from late last year.  I think it was collateral damage from last year’s announcement which was meant to target the bookies only and it hit more sectors of the gambling industry than expected.  I had to self-exclude myself from the arcade.  It’s a bit of a pain having to go into each one, but it works for me.  My only gambling nowadays is £50/month on Video Slots (someone further up did suggest £50 as a limit) and sometimes £50 on Royal Panda.  I don’t play anywhere else, otherwise where does it stop?

€20 deposited and 2500 needed in points is disproportionate.  Yes most people on here will deposit €20 per month no probs but I don’t know one can get 2500 in points from that size deposit.  I play £50 per month and after being on VS for just over a year, I have only just hit level 2!

Thanks for the Upworthy link Liberty.  I was wrong then by saying that there were more casualties in WW1.  I also didn’t realise WW2 claimed a lot more civilians than military as well.

As for the debate in this thread, keep putting points across but saying “fuck off” isn’t going to help!  (ref the post above mine)

I don’t know much about WW2 (my class only did WW1), but I have wondered why WW2 is a much more political and sensitive topic?  A lot more people died in WW1 and yet it’s ok to make a mockery of it e.g. Black Adder.  However, if you dress up as Hitler at a fancy dress party, it will get you arrested but it’s ok to dress up as another evil leader such as Genghis Khan and it’s ok to have a South Park episode centred around Saddam Hussain?

About the holocaust, again I don’t know anything about it, but I wouldn’t deny it because it’s common knowledge.  It’s like knowing that WW2 took place between 1939 and 1945, and that the Spitfire plane was one of our main weapons.
