To add to that, I must say that in the oxfam example cited, what disgusted me was the fact they were paying in excess of 2 million pounds to a board of executives, not just one directors salary. I have no problem with a CEO being paid 100k, that’s literally nothing in the grand scheme – I’ve worked at corporations where that sort of money is three or four tiers from the top floor – but I do take offence at the “jobs for the boys” culture where they are taking money for fuck all. Quite literally in some cases, listed as “trustees” and providing nothing to the daily running.
DeffoSo you would rather a director of a charity earned peanuts? Where would you find this person thats has the relevant skills to run said charity for such a low salary? Or would you prefer somebody who lacks the skills, who doesnt want to be paid much? I can give you a very good example. My wife joined a very well known military charity, She was paid about £100k, When she joined this charity, it was running at a loss a massive loss, By the time she left it was several million in profit. You see, and it may be difficult for you to understand, but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. The reason i said give goods rather than cash is so that you know what you are giving goes to the source. the administration charges of most charities are crazy. Why? Because they pay peanuts, get monkeys and money gets wasted.
Why would that be difficult for me to understand? I dont earn 100k a year but I own all three of the businesses I run, two online and one bricks and mortar. Sorry, does that dislodge the chip on your shoulder slightly?
Yes, I firmly believe that charity workers from the bottom right to the top should be paid in line with their skillset, but to a level. A director on a salary which puts them in competition with hedge fund managers is going to put me off that particular brand. Even now I refuse to give a penny to oxfam because of the money they’ve blasted on staff, advisors and management at the higher levels. Sorry, anyone going into that particular sector needs to have at least some sort of humanitarian interest rather than wanting financial gain.
You’re still wrong about giving goods. If I donate 100 quid that money starts immediately on it’s way to the end user – minus whatever percentage the charity runs at for costs. If I donate an item worth 100 quid, I know for an absolute fact it’s either going home with a volunteer or going out on the shop floor at a drastically reduced rate. I work closely with the salvation army, help for heroes, British heart (less so now they maintain a decent website) and lots of small hospice and homeless charities, and you know as well as I do that I’m not talking bollocks here if your wife is a charity high-flier, I just dont think you expected to get pulled on your rubbish.. ?
I’ve hardly played online this year but I’ll have;
1) Playboy. Is there a shitter game?? Everytime I’ve bonused it, its wank.
Isn’t that what playboy is designed for? Wank?
When I wrote that I thought the same thing… then I reasoned that I was on a high-brow forum full of gentlemen, and classy lady-folk and that no one would make the connection between “playboy” and “wank”.
@thebandit, sort this shit out, the forum is in the gutter here. ???

2) jars. Started out so well, died on its arse (I know there are still big wins rolling out of it…)
3) Pokerstars $7 spin n go. Crushing at $3, do ok at $15 when I’ve tried them but that 7 dollar stake seems to attract more (russian) donkey bastard luckboxes than my temper can handle.
4) millionaire. Bitch to bonus, makes you gamble AGAIN just for your ten crappy spins, then pays naff all. Or half of naff all if your luck is really bad.
5) highlander. Love that bonus game, but it hates me. Don’t think I’ve ever gotten past 4 wilds. That’s in 20 or 30 bonuses.
Deffo not charity because very little of the money goes to the cause buy equipment for a good cause dont give them the cash
That’s a pretty misinformed statement.
No its not, most charities waste up to 90% of donations due to bad administration. Giving actual items bypasses this problem.
Na I’m not having that, I’d like to see it backed up if you have a link or a reference online? There are a couple of good websites which break down charity costs and fees and tell you exactly what gets to the end user. For example Oxfam used to be around half – their director was one of the highest paid in the country which I disagree with very very strongly, its disgusting that a director of a charity is getting minted off the back of it. These days they claim 82% gets to the humanitarian aid they provide, almost the exact opposite of your claim I’m afraid.
And the second part – donating goods means better value for money? – is also something I think you’re wrong about. I used to make a very good living picking up under priced goods to sell on ebay, charity shop “experts” dont deserve to be paid in brass washers the amount they let slip through. As it happens I now advise some of my local ones, and any decent jewellery or watches they get donated I sell through my shop commission free (its 20% usually). I used to love finding valuables they had missed but now I get incredibly frustrated by it – they have a duty of care to their patrons and donators (errrrr… donatees??) to raise the most money possible from the items they are given. I had a stand up row with an old dear in my local hospice shop because she’d priced a white gold collarette as silver, and was adamant that she couldn’t possible be wrong about it. As it turns out I bought it for 20 quid and put another 20 quid in the charity box, but I did everything i could (no, really did EVERYTHING i could) to get her to stick another zero on the price ticket.
Charities are flawed, the volunteers they get are generally pretty rubbish but they’re doing it for nowt so what can you do?
Should just be for people who have been members here for at least a year & have made posts throughout the year (this would exclude me this year as I am fairly new). Other than that, deffo to charity because of the twats doing multiple entries. Impossible sorting by IP’s as a vpn will sort that or a library etc etc
I’m on a couple of watch forums and there have been giveaways for everything from timex to Rolex. Same rules apply there to stop the chances who only join for the freebies, theres a minimum post count and a six month membership criteria.
That is a bit difficult here being a relatively new forum, but I do think that expecting participants to be active on the forum would be a decent rule. More volume would be a great thing, I have to admit I struggle to join in the limited threads sometimes and have taken to coming on once or twice a week rather than once or twice a day.
Excuse my ignorance but how were multiple entries made/allowed?? Are we talking about hundreds of spoof accounts just to enter?
I clicked on the giveaway last week and clicked the “enter” button, then a couple of days later went on it again and the same button was there, so I clicked it again assuming it hadn’t taken. Does that mean I’ve had multiple entries (in which case a glitch in the software?) Its telling me now when I view that I entered on the 18th December.
You know what, fat rabbit was so much easier ??? (that’s hahaha, in case smileys dont save).
I’m shocked at how many entries there were in relation to just three prizes to be honest. Considering there are about six active members on the forum… must be lots of shy ones.
Agree with dynamik23, slots should load at penny stakes so misclicks (we’ve all done them!) are less expensive mistakes.
£200 a spin though OP??? Which game and which site? That need a checking, it seems unusual that your one spin was for exactly your balance..
Fingers crossed.
No real reason to deposit that way imo, just set up your own paypal – simple.
With the hoops they make you jump through these days you’re very lucky they didn’t just sack the whole thing off.
1Snipped from @trr420 way back on page 3;
My opinion is that all these streamers ganging up,and all wanting to become friends (fake friwnds)… like Nick slots on Chipmonks stream, Rolla on that weirdo that keeps kissing his own feet, lets give it a spin or whatever…it was so cringe that my balls started to hurt.
When you watch them streams and see the body language and fake laughs and smiles, you can realise they are all trying to hook up to strengthen a weakening business. Jimbo and Craig slots joining together. All trying to strengthen and promote a weakening business as they know there is, and will forever more be, degeneration when it comes to streams/ affiliation Casino wise. Soon the UK will ban it.
Sorry, totally unrelated to the topic, but that little section reminded me of the Bandit/Rolla alliance. I may have dreamt this but who else remembers Bandit popping up on Rocknrollaaa’s 24 hour charity stream with those fucking foam heads! If I remember rightly he was like death warmed up (self inflicted?) and that big sweaty Gandalf head was a marked improvement on his usual boyish good looks. hahaha
Jammin jars on 4 quid costs less than danger on a pound . Jammin jars base game is really shit . You must get lucky on jammin
Plus Danger is utter tripe. I bet I can count the number of bonuses I’ve had on one hand. Never had a 100x, struggling to recall a 50x if I’m honest. That one slot has been one of my biggest money pits of all time, worse even than Bonanza.

It’s tailed off a bit but I used to play that slot free for hours. You’re not the first one to say that by the way, I must just have hit that at lucky times because I reckon I’m up overall and a £500 deposit would last absolutely ages!
Has anyone else noticed a few older machines creeping back in? Maybe it’s a fad but in my little home town I’ve noticed more and more or the small independent pubs buying in their own machines, so as well as the new stuff in Yates’ and Wetherspoons I have a handful of 4, 5, 6 year old games to hit too. All £100 converted too, with the exception of Make or Break which I believe still has the £70 cap.
Namely;
Deal or No Deal “Rapid Round” (crap 4 reel game, takes ages to board but it’s easy to force).
Deal or No Deal “VIP” (boards for fun but never seems to land a big value).
Deal “Make or Break” which is a really interesting one; you can play the DOND board straight away, it starts off with a blue and red box, you build the rest up as you go around the feature board but if you wish you can just play it immediately, basically a 50/50 for a £5 or £6 win.
Deal or no Deal “Time to Play” (my favourite – the only one I can find anywhere, it didn’t last in pubs for long).
Batman “Gotham City”. Another interesting concept game that didn’t last. 3 “Bat” symbols open up a DOND game, but a fourth one allows you to choose (within reason) what value go and what values stay.What other unusual machines have you got around you folks? Excluding arcades of course. Pubs, clubs and takeaways. 🙂
Any tips or tid-bits for any of the above?
@allang84 , how long have you been watching? I’m years deep and I reckon 99% of what I’ve watched on the Bandits channel has been on 2 quid. Yet you don’t think it’ll be fun to him? :/
The high stakes I’ve seen have been the swarm and reel king (to exploit the loopholes in the two games – cheaply building the swarm and the “must hit” ladder gamble respectively), then hitting the other games at high stakes simply because we’re playing with a big balance. Very recent additions, not the norm and – as we’ve seen recently – not sustainable.
Other than that it’s just the subscriber specials that get a bit spicy on the stakes.
£2 isn’t a low stake, I’m not sure how many times that’s been said before but two pounds per spin is a lot more than Joe Public is going to be spinning, it’s not nosebleed levels but it’s not cheap either, a grand can go in a few minutes turbo spinning the wrong game.
Personally I welcome the cap, but for regular gamers it’s a little frustrating not to be able to raise a bit on the lower variance games. I like 4 quid on jammin Jars and a fiver on gargatoon, that often costs less than spinning Danger on a quid in my experience.
7th November 2019 at 1:40 pm in reply to: Has anyone actually managed any footy wins this season? #82924Acca’s have been shocking all season, been handed my bollocks most weeks after these Sunday matches….
Both teams to score is my current go-to. Steadily up almost every week now picking 6 to 8 teams and putting combo wins on at Ladbrokes. Usually 6 games with all the 4 team combinations.
A fortnight ago I was halvsies with one of my mates (a Bolton wanderers fan – we’re not close mates) and he ballsed up the coupon putting 4 folds AND 6 folds on 8 selections. Luckily all our picks came up trumps so we banked a good few quid.
