Nope, less ain’t more.
While I can see the point about the forum being a fun place to visit, it’s not the reason for all the followers.
The slot videos are the reason for all the followers, slot videos are the reason the forum sprung up, rather than the other way around, and slot videos and the affiliate funds they’ve raised have helped pay for it.
While I don’t like Chipmunkz “business model” (in a nutshell – watch me, subscribe to my channel, sign up through my links so I can take all the profits and give you feck all back**) he gives his subscribers a new video almost every day.
**fair enough he did give away some money from Extra Chilli last month – but only because he didn’t have to provide it).It seems a shame that Bandit sub’s have to beg for content, and even then are given “like it or lump it” statements like last Sunday when a video dropped with an hour of Reel King and nothing else. This week was a treat; a standard Sunday Slots which became a Reel King attempt and then a longer high-stakes shot. Great content.
Once a week, though, isn’t going to satisfy the fans.I strongly agree with the comments here and Twitter about Bandit ignoring the original supporters and putting all his time and effort into the Footie Million stuff. Fine it’s a good cause and should get a few headlines when the target is reached but that’s a personal project. A vanity project, almost. Loads of members are happy to help but now every page has a “sticky” about it and it’s feeling like it has been repeated to death.
To me it feels like the older supporters, subscribers and slotters have been used as a stepping stone to bigger things. I don’t especially care, there are loads of other YouTubers following the same format now – they may not be as entertaining but the content is there if that’s what people want. Just don’t be surprised when people un-sub or attack you for not providing the content that this whole community was born from.
I have put dozens of people onto this channel over the years and we’d often have a laugh about particular outbursts, or “borrow” some of the catchphrases if we were playing the machines in the pub, but these days I am the only one still watching.I’ve just found an absolute favourite this weekend; “Deal or No Deal Time To Play”.
Must be the last one in a high street pub anywhere – it was a “blink and you miss it” slot that one, everywhere one minute then not a one to be found!
Classic DOND board but with a new concept; a 5 minute timer counting down to your next board. 5 minutes to collect boxes (8 red boxes = 1 blue box. Blue boxes are ‘levels’ of DOND with Ultra Deal at the top).
The cashpots were all around halfway, none of them close to full, but I couldn’t resist a spin as it’s one you never see anymore.
An hour later we’d had a jackpot from the Ultra deal (first hit, managed a single red box game which is an instant jackpot) and another jackpot off the 50p board.Capped it by spinning a tenner on 25p and took the cashpot which was about 20 quid.
Paid every penny of it in coins and the barman was being a cnut about changing them so I was rattling all afternoon.
Sorry bandit, I’ve hardly been on here since the forum launched, but had to nip on to see the resolution to this.
Absolute bullshit result. I was tilting for you, no way I could have carried on and recorded a video after that so well done for keeping your cool.
I appreciate what folk are saying about the system glitching and counting off more than it should from the first scatter symbol, but I agree that the game then “thought” it was headed to a second retrigger and shut down the scatters.
Total bollocks, I’ve stuck it on the banned list and it won’t be coming off in a hurry. I’ll be following this thread keenly to see what they offer by way of apology, regardless of what quite went wrong they owe something.
So after reading this thread I have to say I never read so much fucking drivel by a set of moaning let’s blame everyone else set of cunts (no names mentioned bandit so I am guessing thats ok) in life people make their own choice and are responsible for their actions, so what if people are making money of someone signing up to casinos so what if it is false advertising as if people are silly enough to beleive it(if it false) then more fool them, a gambler will do it no matter what, I know I have lost more then money due to gambling (started at the age of 12 ) I joined game stop 5 weeks ago and have spent hours trying to get around it (still no joy, thanks bandit for putting me onto it) still didn’t stop me spunking 500 yesterday on the Forbes would I of cared if someone else’s would have made money out of that I am sure you know the answer, unless they ban all forms of gambling most people will never stop and while there is gambling there will always be others to make money out of it and good luck to them, at the end of the day it’s a job and I am sure if you all take a really long hard look at your job I am sure in some way it will be hurting another human being but you still do it cos that’s what puts food on your family’s table
Well done for taking responsibility and owning your own actions – I did that too (when I quit gambling online, I didn’t make any excuses about “not being able to get around” software, K9 installed in an hour and never looked back).
I’m not into sharing personal details but I now run a jewellers and deal in watches online (a side business started with £250 in 2011 to channel my free time into something constructive – that “hobby” turns £30k a year now). If in some way I found a way to exploit people addicted to buying watches, even if it was only a matter of putting them onto a high end dealer for a small commission my way, and that caused them problems – even if it was only 1% of the buyers – I couldn’t do it.
Truth is though, I can’t see a way my business harms people so again we’re in disagreement.
This isn’t aimed at anyone in-particular but I stick my my belief that the competitions encouraging casino sign-ups are irresponsible. Some streamers make it the absolute core of their “business model” and pester people to sign up constantly, it comes across as begging on some videos.
Craig Slots channel is still there it looks like, just no content so it’s all been hidden. He released a vid a few days ago stating that he wasn’t making new content so that the channel would avoid the chop everyone else has had. The week before it was due to “work commitments”, so the story changes to fit his mood it seems.
As it goes I quite liked his videos but I’ve never seen anyone worse for disappearing for weeks on end. Bandit was, if nothing else, regular. Sunday Slots (sometimes pushed back a day) and either one or two in the week (Wednesday & Friday seemed common) every week without fail. The rest seem to do their bollocks in and vanish for 3 weeks out of 4.
Either way it’s no loss. I have never had time for the begging for subs and offering prize draws for sign-ups, I think it’s a very very shitty way to make money considering you know full well that a good proportion of the punters are going to be bang in trouble with gambling. Get them to sign up through your link (“Support the channel”, as Craig and Jimbo love to say), lose a pile of money, a small percentage of that pays for your content and you get to pocket the difference – What superb human beings.
Yes yes ok we sometimes get to see the profit and loss side of it, but when a streamer tries to settle the argument by showing how he’s £50k down over a couple of years, he’s not really because there has been that much and more paid out by the casino in sign-ups.
Fair enough a lot – half or more – of the sign-ups will be in control of their gambling, but I still envision an awful lot of damaged lives so the casino streamers can pocket a few pounds. Certainly wouldn’t sit well with me. Good riddance to them from a lightly moderated PUBLIC PLATFORM such as YouTube I say, sites like these are definitely the way to go.
1I can’t recall seeing Bandit play Vampires which some of the other slotters seem very keen on. Very tough to bonus but I have seen some phenomenal wins on it, looks at least as good as that Knight’s Life.
Obviously the wins have been turned down on Pink Elephants and Flame Busters but those were both pretty fun games, in fact wasn’t there a “single slot series” on flame busters back when it launched?
The huge wins have died down on ’em, but they have on Danger too and that still gets hammered to shit. (Always makes me laugh when there are 15 shite bonuses in a row then one decent 100x and it’s “Bosh, never in doubt, still a fantastic slot”) 😀
Well on and off. Not so much these days. You realise after a few decades the only real winner is the pub/casino/arcade.
Strange post, no detail whatsoever and when pressed your fave games are wish upon a jackpot and topcat which are online only…
Would be interested to hear more about the older games you played tbh, if you did.
20th July 2018 at 7:32 pm in reply to: the matrix —- what pill do you want ? with everything going on ? #11761@nostromo332 frigging Cheshire Oaks – I drove down there from Manchester to buy a watch from the Tag Heuer outlet. Phoned TWICE, once before leaving and once on the hour long drive down to check they were keeping hold of it and when I got there “oh we’ve just sold it, we weren’t sure you were coming”…
20th July 2018 at 7:29 pm in reply to: the matrix —- what pill do you want ? with everything going on ? #11758I don’t mind if you want to post every question you got on here mate.
I don’t know if you saw the tweets of the days that you were at Cheshire Oaks, about 40 minutes for me to get there by the way, but on the Monday i was running around trying to arrange a replacement for the late cancellation of a bouncy castle for my sons birthday, which was then on the Tuesday so unfortunately, i was fairly busy on those days.
Lets look into my affiliate deals if you like then, from a revenue share point of view. I will go through each casino i have worked with and tell you the percentage, but that is just me telling you isn’t it, i mean, what proof is that? I guess it is up to you to decide whether you take the facts direct from the horses mouth or whether you choose to believe the pitch fork carriers lol.
I will start with the ones that perhaps you may frown upon at first glance, but please read what i write.
Videoslots – At Videoslots my revenue share, this is what they call a share of revenue that is associated with the losses of the players you bring in to the casino, is billed as “30%”. That isn’t every affiliates revenue share percentage at Videoslots, that is my personal deal. Now lets look into that a bit closer because i can tell you that it is not as simple as to say “If a player loses £100 then The Bandit gets paid £30” which has been popular belief. In fact, the casino has the word “Net” inside their deal for me, they mean 30% of the “Net Gaming Revenue”, now lets use an actual, up to date, real world example of my revenue share at Videoslots….. this is this month so far – Collectively, £53,945 has been lost by my active players at Videoslots this month, you may think OMFG the world has a problem, let me also tell you that that is based on 745 active players. An average loss (although we know it works nothing like that) of £72.40 per player. By checking the average it helps us put that huge figure into some sort of perspective. Ok now the important bit, right now at this point of the month, what does that £53,945 translate to as a payment to me…… it’s £1,089. That is in real terms, fractionally over 2% (TWO percent) As we are still in an active month, it is possible for that amount to go up as well as down for the rest of July. Why is it such a low %? The gross figure (£53k odd) is subject to many deductions first by the casino, there is Tax, Bank fees, Game Provider fees, Jackpot Deductions, Admin fees, Bonus fees and Paid Loyalty fees and only after all of that do you arrive at your “Net Gaming Revenue” figure of which i am supposed to be awarded 30%, it is actually tracking at 28.2% this month so far. SO as you can see, it’s not quite the “Oh Bandit gets £30/40/50 every time you lose £100” is it now.
Casumo – Revenue share at Casumo is also 30%, again that is subject to the important word of “Net” and is worked out in a very similar way to the above breakdown with videoslots, i can’t go in to a real world example with Casumo as for a start i haven’t done anything there for yonks but also their reporting breakdown isn’t as good as Videoslots and you don’t get told the figures that are taken off at each stage and for what.
Energy – When i first started at Energy, my revenue share was 30% but due to 10 of the first 12 months of statistics failing to produce a payment related to revenue share – yes, really! I now have a newer program that is 0% revenue there.
Betfair – 0%
Paddypower – 0%
Redbet – 0%
Bet Victor – 0%
Party Casino – I used them in November 2016 i think but anyway, as for revenue share goes, again – 0%
At the end of the day, i don’t hold anyones arm up above their back and make them click buttons and links, people support me if they want to. Getting a slating here there and everywhere about the giveaways at the moment it would seem but what about all the giveaways that don’t require a sign up, what about the charity donations, what about the money i send to help various people behind the scenes, even the giveaways that are on the prize draw page, every single one there has ever been has had a free entry route. When all is said and done, i will still gamble so there will always be a video from me.
Sorry to be the twat that quotes the entire “essay” post! 😉 Is there a way to edit someone elses post just to highlight or leave in the bits you want to comment on?
Anyway in a nutshell, this has given me a new insight into affiliation and to be honest I think it’s what a lot of people have been getting catty about in the comments on YouTube and on here.
It’s changed my view entirely and I sincerely hope it does for many others. Fair play for taking the time to run the numbers…When did we all stop being responsible for our own actions?
I hate this nanny state bollocks, I hate that a small group can spend all their time trying to get certain You Tube Channels closed down because they don’t ‘agree’ with the content.
Yeah right, don’t agree or are quite sad and as jealous as fuck that others are having a little success on Social Media? I know where my money is going.
I watch The Bandit as he is funny, entertains me and is <span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>bloody d</span><span style=”font-size: 1rem;”>ecent bloke, if I choose to spunk £200 quid on the slots, then that is my decision, not The Bandits or Paul’s or Kim’s or Nick’s, END OF.</span>
You can choose to spend it where you want, hooray for personal choice. However, if someone dangles a carrot on a stick saying “Hey, you might win a grand off me if you sign up to this casino and spend a couple of quid” you might be a little more inclined to do something you DEFINITELY wouldn’t otherwise. Especially if you’re a compulsive gambler (sorry, EX gambler) with a proclivity towards being suckered in to gambling.
Ok, where do we stop then? As others have said, introduce prohibition so we look after the alcoholics?
Why ban things that the majority are ok with just because there’s a minority who struggle.
I am amazed by the amount of hate here, hence why I said I don’t believe some are solely altruistic and it’s all down to jealousy.
Why not no and bother Zoe and Alfie and the like who are fleecing a nation of parents???
No hate from me, and certainly no jealousy – I’m here because I enjoy the videos, it’s always more fun to watch a winning one than a losing one (of course I appreciate there need to be both) so of course I’m always rooting for a big cash-out. #TeamBandit 😉
My responses to this thread were just to give a balanced view rather than the deluded folk suggesting this content is a good thing for a recovering gambler. It isn’t. I’m not quite sure why that rubbed people up the wrong way.
Sadly I do stick by the opinion that dangling a cash give-away for signing up to a site is a bit of a no-no considering a good proportion of the crowd seem to be recovering gamblers (half the YouTube comments were precisely that).
To counter that I can also appreciate the fact that instead of sticking an extra couple of grand in his pocket each month, bandit gives a ton of it away again to his viewers. It’s a double edged sword, pro’s and con’s just like anything in life.

Games with a board to work your way to the top of were always ones I was drawn to, like Road Hog and I think I remember a Smokey & The Bandit one in a dusty arcade when we used to go down to Talacre for a weekend in the caravan. There was a fun Coronation Street one as well, might have been an £8 jackpot.
The modern ones might have the allure of big jackpots, but they are mostly really dull. Deal or No Deal make up the vast majority of current offerings, but all you’re ever playing for is a “Deal” game which doesn’t make for much excitement.
Two I would own if I found a good example (well one really, they were the same game with a different face on) were Battle-Axe and Revolution. Huge wheel in the middle of the board and it was just a hi-low gamble to build up cash, nudges and features. Nudges could be used mid game to improve your features, it often took a bit of strategy rather than blind luck.
Last one (mis-spent youth, seriously) was Rich Geezer. The three reel version obviously. I think it was a £35 jackpot? Loved the noises it made, hated the volatility! 😉
1Just a quick note Kojak, of the 40,000 viewers i would get on the videos and of the 23,500 people that were subscribed, around 200 people a month would join through my links, not really 95% of my viewers that is it?
Your opinion is your opinion and that is all well and good but i’d say 99% of my viewers….. watched for free.
Fair enough, I used the wrong wording.
To put it correctly, 95% of your sign-ups (perhaps just 1% of your viewers, then) are going to lose their money. And a good number will lose much more chasing their loss.
Without wishing to make this personal – this is a gripe with all streamers and YouTube gamblers who do this – I was simply pointing out that you make money by incentivising people to sign up to a new site (one which you’re affiliated with) and gamble, and usually lose.
Ironically my response was in reply to someone arguing that your videos help problem gamblers stay on the straight and narrow. It would have been quite funny if I didn’t remember all the sleepless nights and heartache from my 20’s.Maybe I should target Alcoholics Anonymous and show videos of me drinking special brew. Maybe get them all to chuck a quid in for me to draw a raffle and the winner gets an all-day beano around Manchester.
*Edit – second thoughts no, I did that last week and the cocktail bars left a £300 hole on my wallet*Again, this isn’t an attack on you. I enjoy your content and I think you seem sound. It’s a warning to anyone with an issue gambling, who should be running 100 miles from this sort of content, not watching it to “help”.
11As an ex gambler who got into a real heap of shit before it was discovered i can comment from that side of the coin. I know for a fact youtube and soon twitch are cracking down due to pressure from the UK government. In the last few weeks and months and future so many new rules and regs for betting shops and online casinos have been brought in. The UK has basically killed off fobt with 20p max bets and also no auto play or fast spinning. other new regs soon as well.
My point though is i know a good 25 percent or more watching steve and his slotting are like me. ex hamblers watching him play to stop their own itch. therapy even lol. Anyone agree.
No, strongly disagree.
I’m also a gambler. I’ve had a “serious problem” but now play in moderation – basically I play the quiz games in the pub and when I’m pissed II go on the bandits too – no bookies, no casinos and no online (K9 protection on phone and laptop).
It’s simply untrue that gamblers (ex gamblers are very very rare to find) watch these vids to scratch an itch, they watch them to live vicariously through someone else, and if/when the opportunity arises I am 100% certain they will try to emulate their actions. It’s the same for “Ex gamblers” who still play on the casino sites on free-play to get their fix.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve done both the above and tried to convince myself that it’s a healthy thing, but if you are a problem gambler trying to cut ties and build a life then any reminder of your highs will be a trigger. I have worked extensively with problem gamblers and I assure you it’s the truth, it’s like a volcano bubbling – it might not have erupted yet but it sure ain’t dormant.
Luckily I now have a family and a couple of businesses and gamble a couple of times a month in the pub, but it took a lot of years losing every penny every week (maybe 15 years) before I realised it was a mugs game.
I am a hypocrite of course, I love Steve’s videos and was a regular viewer for my sins, but the idea that he is providing a service to help gamblers is utterly mental – especially offering thousand quid prize draws for anyone who signs up through his links to lose money.*** Getting paid for that would go against my ethics, certainly.
***note – affiliates get paid regardless of whether you win or lose, but as a gambler himself surely he knows that 95% of the time it’s going to go one way. Costing 95% of your viewers money to draw affiliation dues wouldn’t sit right with me.
