Be careful just basics, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. ??

Still no need for the harsh words imo, people can disagree with each other without calling each other cunts.

Im sure you won’t but I worry that you might decide that by being right about this you might be right about far stranger things.

Anyhow, on the topic of Davos, I’m sad this has all been brought to light as I now have one less youtuber to watch haha. I watch to be entertained and while I didn’t watch all his stuff I occasionally watched some of the blackjack and it entertained me. Now there’s doubt about whether it’s real it’s of no interest to me.

In other news I’m going to have a look at this nasa world power thing just in case it pops up again.

As an early adopter I couldn’t see any reason to buy an xbox on launch day. Ps4 was cheaper and more powerful, albeit marginally. Since launch playstation has repeatedly blown the competition out of the water with its exclusives so I am delighted I got the Ps4. Plus psvr is simply an awesome addition for a relatively cheap price.

Im not a fanboy tho ill likely get a Ps5 simply because they are bringing support for my extensive backlog and psvr.

So xbox lost me as a customer with their shite xbox 1 launch and their lack of exclusives and their closer ties to their pc ecosystem means I can just play their stuff on my pc.

I hope Sony don’t rest on their laurels and repeat the mistakes of the ps3, I got the 360 that generation and the ps3 much much later and while the cell was technically brilliant it was a pos to code for and multiplatform games were simply better.

Ultimately, if you’ve read this far without seeing red and typing a reply about how the x1>Ps4 I think the single most important choice with a console is what your friends play on. Hopefully next gen cross play will become common place so it won’t matter but heck I only know one person with an xbox system and they have it for competitive forza which is certainly a good reason.

    Tl:dr

    Sony till I die! (possibly)

It’s hard, you’ve accepted you are solely to blame for it which is good.

Here is a suggestion, write a letter to your girlfriend you fucked over with your actions with heartfelt apologies. This can be a very emotional process even if you feel numb inside now, try to imagine how you made them feel while you are writing it.

Afterwards burn it or send it, the choice is yours, the main point of it is for some closure to that part of your life. You can’t change the past, only learn from it. When you have a serious gambling problem you almost lock out emotion and empathy because you are single mindedly focused on getting your fix, whatever the cost. It can be cathartic.

Then find a gamblers anonymous and go and listen, you’re far from alone. You are alive and hopefully healthy and humans can recover from almost anything. It will take time and you’ll think about it less and less but you’ll move on from this point. Just don’t go back to gambling mate.

    Good luck.

I totally get that certain people get so frustrated with me because I just can’t see the true woods for the conspiracy trees.

And I get that members get so pissed off at me for not listening to what they are telling me.

    i get it….I get it.

But think how I feel when hardly anyone backs me. I’m not saying they don’t ever back me. Just on occasions when I have 4 or 5 people smashing me down to a pulp lol.

i can’t change who I am, or what I believe. I simply can’t because it would go against everything I stand for.

And would you really want me to change? Ask yourselves that.

While I sometimes think you are bat shit crazy I’m honestly not trying to make you feel stupid at any point. I accept I went off the deep end when you mentioned the holocaust but that was partially because I’m pissed about a real life situation where the same thing came up and partially because I feel that by saying it’s a hoax you are belittling the very real suffering millions of people went through.

That aside I really do try to engage with you and offer up reasons for why I don’t agree with you these days, I’m not trying to score points, I’m honestly trying to help you look at your questions from a different point of view in a non hostile way. I think lots of others are too, we aren’t gunning for you we’re offering up reasons that we don’t agree with you.

So if you feel like it’s badgering it’s really not supposed to be, I try to offer a slightly different way of looking at something than say argyl53 does. I try not to just repeat what others say.

That’s part of the reason the replies are so long mate, to give you alternative view points.

Just Basics has got the art of being contrary down pat for sure. His threads are mostly interesting to me, if not only for the hope that talking through some of his stranger ideas might help him see that while nothing is black and white, most things are answerable to a reasonable enough degree.

To be completely fair to just basics he is very capable of admitting an error or a mistake and while he often sees red and tilts out on the forums I think he regrets a lot of it and has certainly apologised for lots of it too.

Right… I feel dirty now, PayPal me the agreed £2k jb. ?

I really miss dune2000, he was an active straight talker who got banned for imho something that he shouldn’t have been banned for.

I miss Mr B because he was just basics’ sith Lord and was mostly comedy value.

Ai can guess as much as you or I about what the next spin on a slot will bring but it can’t know because of the way slots work. Your result is to do with when you press the spin button, it has <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>nothing</span> to do with what comes before or after.

You press spin and the server decides what happens at that moment. I’m sure you’ve played roulette in a bookies back in the day, if you pressed at the same moment as someone else you got the same number as them. That’s a simplified way of hours online slots work. Note its simplified as there are more variables.

It’s more like they spin a roulette wheel with a billion numbers on it when you hit spin and then send back the result dressed up in the slot spin.

Ai can’t play a slot and know what will happen next as not even the server knows what is coming next until it is asked.

There is a perfect way to play blackjack, where you gain the best possible return. The edge is still in the casinos favour but it’s far more marginal.

You can teach an ai to play like this but it won’t be any better at blackjack than a human using the same strategy.

You can count cards which increases your edge, you can teach ai to do that but they don’t be any better than a human doing the same.

Is your argument now that casinos are not using ai to cheat players in games but that ai is cheating casinos in games?

I’m really not trying to mess with your head.

Here I’ll try again to get across the point I have.

Let’s say casinos know everything you’ve ever done, where you go, when you raise your stake.

If they can control the outcome then the history is meaningless as they can just base their choice on whether I get paid or not on what I bet.

If they can’t control the outcome then the history doesn’t help them because they can’t benefit from it.

The only way the history helps them is if they notice what tilts you and empties your bank account and they can control the outcome of all their games to create this situation time and time again and I simply don’t think that is remotely likely.

Slots are built to tilt with scatters missing by 1 routinely and the new age of high variance slots giving you less than 10x on a bonus far too regularly but that’s a completely different argument.

Your analogy of rock paper scissors is interesting.

    1) in rock paper scissors it would give you an edge, just like knowing a poker players history gives you an edge

2)i don’t see how this converts to a casino for the following reasons

    A) if they are able to control where the ball lands them they don’t need to know my history as they will know what I’ve bet on for that roll

    B) if they can’t control where it lands then knowing my history doesn’t help them

I might be missing your point but I hope you understand my objections to your analogy. Please feel free to expand.

I must not understand what you mean. Please reread this and explain yourself so I can understand how it would give the casino an edge. Thanks!

I think most people would agree that casinos want to extract as much as possible from their punters. That they monitor your movements and deposits around their sites and try to entice you back with user specific promos.

They also use the same technique to identify problem gamblers and make contact with them altho I’m sure only a slightly cynical mind would think they do this to cover their own backs and also to make it seem like the tech they are adding is to help players rather than try to efficiently fleece them.

I have gambled for 20 years and for 10 online. They obviously have an full understanding of how much I play. How much I’ve lost and how degenerate I get. Yet I haven’t received a single email or chat from any of them saying “ hey man, your losing quite a lot and on a regular basis, you need to take a break”

Funny how Bandit got a personalised email from casumo a few weeks ago to show us all in his video innit!

has anyone else received anything remotely like that from a casino saying anything close to that?

I recieved contact from one in the last 12 months, the very last time I had a blowout. It might well be that things have changed recently idk.
