    Yep, Cameron should have had the balls to see it through. Despite being a deserter, he does have rather better posture – even when doing things with pigs – allegedly – than our current Prime Minister.

    Don’t touch Social Media – except when job scrounging via LinkedIn or playing in group in WoW – which can be sometimes troll-like and horribly childish. Like all good platforms, the greed allows business and advertising to take over and then it gets so big it cannot be controlled by its communities properly. Zuckerberg is a twat for selling his (??? hahahaha) platform out.

    Don’t get me started on PC – but it does make Gene Hunt very refreshing to watch. Like AndyW, used to get slapped, belted, gym-shoed and caned at school and look what a bloody weirdo I am now !!

    My biggest downfall is booze. I tend not to see the chips as ‘actual cash’. It only becomes real when I see the amounts withdrawn on my bank statement. Videoslots have a nice feature where you can limit the wagers but I got upset with myself once and self-excluded. Pity really as I haven’t seen that feature elsewhere and I don’t want to sign up to any more places. Ironically, I normally play DHV at 40p as Bandit, Paul and Dunover have shown how varied these slots are.

    I’ll probably be off roulette until the wine tells me it’s a good idea again !!

    I always look at busy times as being anything when you would be not working, just back from pub, etc. It doesn’t always work but I do have the feeling that if you are placing a £10 bet amongst other hundreds (or thousands) then you would have a better chance of getting a fair result rather than doing the same in a quieter time when your bet would stand out. However, my degenerate bets have been £500 + and I have yet to win one on a simple outside bet apart from one with “RoyalPanda” when I hit a two column £500 bet because the croupier looked like he was trying to keep up. I love the £2 bets on Orphelins as that is a sod to engineer a result on.

    i have won more using the WH roulette app than live roulette spins which is why I posted the original observation.

    (this is just an observation – over the last 9 years, I am 6K down . i enjoy the fun but have yet to get a win on a major stake on an outside bet with roulette)

    I’m getting used to it:

    Sick is now ‘Great’ (formerly repulsive);

    Gay is now ‘Crap’ (formerly ‘chase me, chase me’ and, before that ‘Happy and Carefree’ – according to Enid Blyton)

    Spunk is now ‘to waste things away’ – formerly ‘Courage’ – as in (the above Enid Blyton) “Anne, you are so full of spunk for a girl !”

    Language is great – unless you’re in a high street bookies, then it’s FFS predictable.

    Just a quick laugh there, hopefully 🙂

    I think the wife would go nuts if I bought a wheel but it would be a great trick at parties if I could hone my skills to the extent of the experts. With online casinos though, I am sceptical sometimes as to whether:

    1) The studio performing the spins is aware of the wagers and can engineer the outcome based on this knowledge and against commission targets, etc.;

    2) The company employing the studio can switch between live and pre-recorded video – probably only applicable where there is only one casino employing the services of the studio. Would require a lot of scenarios on ‘from-number’ and ‘to-number’ but most hands/arms/uniforms are generic in those studios (lack of rings/tattoos/watches);

    I’m just throwing this in as a thought but I always restrict my roulette now to busy times where my potential win has more chance of being masked by a larger loss from elsewhere.

    Am I getting old and sceptical ?? 🙂

    Ouch – 7K !! That must have been a heck of a walk home. I’m bad and impulsive with roulette and I hate it TBH but the idea of a potential quick win always seems to overule. i normally play two columns but only small amounts and at a time when I guess the wheel is busy as, like a couple of others above, I do not trust the online casino set up (especially if they can see the actual bets on the ‘layout’)

    Are FOBTs random? I’ve only played my columns (£10, £10) on them a few times but have never won.  🙂

    Glad you didn’t chase your losses there Steve.

    Mine is a mis-spell but should be ‘Masquerade’. I was just too damn excited to join here so I missed out he ‘S’ (Maybe if I ask nicely, it can be corrected??) 🙂  It’s in honour of Kit Williams and the best treasure-hunt imagination known to man back in the late 70s with the hunt for that darn Golden Hare, Real treasure hunting.  hehe.

    Used to have a a few ‘club’ versions in our works club back in the 80s / 90s before it was closed down. Favourites were such as “The Ritz”, “Cops and Robbers” and “Make a Million” – the latter two were £250 jackpots and all had twin ‘cashpots’ that rarely paid as the DIP switch was set to ‘infrequent’. However, the payout was 98% so jackpots on the feature boards were almost every day. I remember, when I was on bar-duty, I’d be called out by some of the customers to help their kids with some feature or nudges that quite often got me a pint as the jackpots rolled. We used to just give them the ‘top-up’ key and tell them to ‘now bloody well put it all back in again!’

    Never did get to grips with pub fruities though but I recognise a lot of the names in this thread fleecing me quicker than a drunken Martingale at a rigged wheel 🙂

    Thanks for posting this. Happy memories mostly.

    Yep – All working. Just had a nostalgic 10p/spin on White Rabbit. 🙂 They seem to have built up their games library since I went away. Nice to be back – but carefully this time.

    3 hours 20 mins after the cooling-off period, I can now deposit again at Bet365 but not at William Hill yet so its quick but it looks like a periodic update rather than the gambling sites interrogating Gamstop on the fly.

    I try Billy Hill again tomorrow.

    Likewise.

    Both William Hill and Bet365 stated that the block will remove automatically. William Hill were more cautious and went through their suite of help tools (Deposit Limits, timeouts, etc). I was told by the guy on Bet365 chat that the comms with Gamstop can be same-day after the 24-hour cool-off so I’ll try again this evening and confirm this.

    No problems with Gamstop at all and I would thoroughly recommend it as a blanket exclusion system.
