@Bandit.
I have carefully read your post. I have clearly followed the way in which you have transitioned from small bets to larger bets on those slots and totally get it. Certainly my risk averse attitude would never have seen me win anything like you did. I am also pleased to hear you have squirreled away plenty from the large chunk you managed to accumulate.
I also understand that your affiliate earnings are minimal, and would be surprised if you don’t give away more than you get from this source.
My concern stems from the way your gaming has changed in general and here I do think I have a valid point. In two videos recently you have chased losses on very high stakes, something that previously you never did. Now it may be that you only do this because you have these extra funds and have a clear financial line that you won’t cross. Maybe you are totally disciplined and not “on tilt”. If so then you are a rare gambler indeed.
Surely you can see my point and why I’m concerned. Even though I was aware of everything you said, as I have followed your journey and listen carefully, I was still concerned that your recent behaviour could easily see you going down a slippery slope.
Don’t think he has lost 400k has he ?I think that’s a number picked out of the air to be honest
I’m sure a few months back he said he was up over 600k on Reel King and Wild Swarm. He also said he bought his house for 200k.
Last video he says “I’m still up by more than the value of my house”. Not very much more, I would guess, given that he’s had some legendary losses recently. So although the figure maybe inaccurate it wasn’t “picked out of the air”. The exact amount is both none of our business and irrelevant to the post and my concerns.
@Seedy. What can I say?
You’re his mate and know him. I don’t. But think about this…He’s lost about £400,000 in a few months. That’s more than the average person is able to put away into a pension fund after a full 50 years of full time employment. A total fortune for your average punter; so a missed opportunity, but not even close to the real issue.
Look at his play over the past few months. The way in which his bet sizes have increased, the way in which he’s starting to blow larger amounts of cash, losing sight of the value of it, far outstripping his affiliate earnings. He’s run through his winnings in double quick time and if he doesn’t apply the brakes now he will lose more; far more than he can actually afford.
It’s a dangerous time. Like winning the lottery and pissing through the millions, ending up in debt (happens to about 30% of them). But unlike most of those lottery winners he’s also a gambling addict. And don’t even consider for a second that he isn’t because it’s obvious.
So he turns up at the pub. Good old Stevie, throwing those darts, cracking those jokes, making you piss yourself. Having a right old laugh. Can’t be anything wrong there, can there? Or can there…?
If he’s acting normal to his closest friends then that’s the most worrying thing. Maybe as his mate it’s time to step up and have that conversation.
You’re his friend. You care about him. And oddly so do I.
Think he has been gambling long enough to not risk his house . Not a chance . And while that video wasn’t the best result for the bandit . It was entertaining , lots off people want to see a bonus on dhv at 40pound , we see the 2-4 pound bonuses all the time .
I’m not basing what I said on one video, but what I’ve seen over the past couple of years. Also I don’t give a crap if it entertains you or anyone else, my concern is for the well-being of the Bandit. And do you believe that having a long term gambling habit somehow makes you immune to losing more than you can actually afford? I hope not.
The speech is a big issue if you hate public speaking. Even though you know everyone wishes the best for you, you can still dry up and look a total tool. I fully understand.
Don’t do what I did the first time and go in unprepared, thinking I would wing it on the day. That’s a disaster. There is nothing wrong with preparing a speech beforehand and reading it off a bit of paper. So long as you can read you’ll be fine 🙂
As for the speech itself there’s a load of stuff you can put down. First and foremost say that you feel the luckiest man on earth and you intend to devote the rest of you life to making you new wife as happy as you can. Thank everyone. Say how chuffed you are at having the great parents you have, great brothers / sisters and great friends, and how you are looking forward to being closer to your new in-laws. People love all that sort of stuff at a wedding and it’s even better if you can mean it.
You don’t need to be funny in your speech, that’s usually the best man’s job. It also doesn’t have to be very long. Mine (second time around) was a heartfelt page of A4, which went down very well. That’s enough. Keep it short and meaningful.
11Well I suppose I’m up for giving JB and Mr B another go, but have a horrible feeling we will quickly regret it. I always felt a bit sorry for JB, as he seemed to need the forum far more than the rest of us.
I take it english isn’t your first language, but calling someone a lazy fuck isn’t a good way to ask someone to do something ?
That’s what I keep telling the wife, but she doesn’t seem to get it 🙁
I would think of it this way…
Imagine yourself in 5 years time, you haven’t self-excluded and continue to gamble. What are the chances of your life being better for gambling? What are the chances of you being broke? That sort of thing.
Now imagine yourself in 5 years time having not gambled at all; self excluding from everything. Do you believe your life would have been diminished through not being able to gamble? What are the chances of you being able to save that cash and having a nice wedge behind you for emergencies, holidays, presents etc.
The choice is obvious, but in reality not so easy.
1How can people watch the same content and come up with totally different views?
For the longest time Steve was losing on all casinos. He constantly tells people “Don’t do this” and is one of the few that actively discourage people from gambling what they can’t afford.
He has actively promoted Gamban, even giving away subscriptions, helps those in need and never makes out that you can win through gambling long term. What more can he do? If anyone has lost their house watching his videos then they only have themselves to blame.
I have never gambled and watching his vids just confirm it’s not a good way to go.
No matey it’s not just you. I only tend to watch Rolla and Bandit who never use the “we” thing. Labowski is the worst for me and it’s the main reason I stopped watching. I don’t mind the “we’re in” or “we’ve got a bonus” as yes, “we” are all entertained when that happens. But the “we’re printing now” or “we’re rich” gets on my tits big time.
This is confusing the shit out of me. As dodgy as this looks, and his whole demeanour afterwards indicates that he fucked up, there’s a few things that just don’t make sense…
1) Since when does a demo mode remember your ‘demo balance’, especially when switching providers?
2) Since when does a demo mode save bonuses from a bonus hunt?
3) Later on in the stream, while he is playing Pink Elephants (with the same balance) it clearly says ‘real play’ in the bottom left.
I’m not sure what has happened, but it seems much more logical that he is credited funds by the casino, or he has some insane deposit match/max withdrawal limit agreement with the casino as discussed previously. N1 Casino have come forward over at Casinomeister to defend Roshstein.
I agree. But why would the balance transfer between Play and Real mode? Surely this mechanic would stay the same even if he was credited real money by the casino. There’s definitely something dodgy going on, but none of the current theories seem to quite make sense.
This is not as clear cut as it appears and is discussed at length here: https://thegamblingcommunity.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4039-roshtein-plays-with-fake-money/
Yep the blokes a muppet anyway. Full of shit. But he has a tank Haz, A TANK!!
Now you stop right there Xbob. That tank is definitely real!
As the video has been taken down I’ll explain.
Roshtein is in the middle of a bonus hunt and has about a £13k balance doing £20 spins. Someone in chat asks about “Practice Mode” which is where you are typically allocated £1000 of play money to experience the slot. So when the slot loads, your “real money” balance is replaced by the “play money” balance of £1000. If you start playing a different slot in play mode, your “play money balance” moves with you.
So Roshtein rather stupidly demonstrates the practice mode on some slot, and guess what… his balance doesn’t change. It still displays the £13k.
So there are two explanations. Either a software glitch or, far more likely, he is using play money.
Now I’ve watched hours of his streams. It always struck me as strange that he would start a game off-camera and then drag the loaded game into view later. He does it EVERY time and I thought it was just part of his slick presentation. Now I understand that this move is to prevent people from seeing him pressing the play mode button to start the game rather than real mode button. Crafty, and I have to say I was gullible enough to fall for it.
The casinos he promotes must be fully aware of this chicanery and I find it almost impossible to believe that this false representation is legal.
@Haz I’m genuinely suprised at you mate. I would definitely pay it back even if I knew I would get away with it. Damn my total honesty! It hasn’t got me very far 🙂
