This is likely an emotive subject for most people so can we please try to keep it clean and on point.
Someone I know has admitted they think the holocaust is a hoax, I knew they believed other conspiracy theories and I guess it just goes to show that once you believe one falsehood it’s easier to believe more and more of them.
Im looking for suggestions on how I can sway their opinion back into the relm of fact so if anyone can help out with information on it that would be very helpful.
I seriously worry about the mental wellbeing of this person and genuinely only want to help them out of this dark pit they have fallen into.

I have no idea if they read the information I give them but it’s all I can do to try my best as holocaust denial is one of the worst kinds of conspiracy theories and I just want them to get better.
Any help at all appreciated, even if it’s just a bit of mental support that I’m not alone in thinking such a belief is simply beyond the pale.

I am a poker player and know how it feels the first time with a big loss but to put your self out their like that I take my hat off to you not something I could do.
I will be watching a lot more of your posts and videos from now some more like this would be good to see. brings the world of gambling into a reality check not just showing all the big wins but taking about how to take the loss to.
At a guess. stocks, sports betting against other people share type stuff. online gambling. business ventures, not dragons den type stuff or del boy down market type things. more a drunken idea in a pub that makes them money 🙂

Just looking for some advice. I have signed up to Gamban so can no longer gamble online at all. It’s been great not having the temptation at the end of my fingertips 24/7. It’s probably the best decision I’ve ever made to be honest.
Now the problem is, FOBTs and physically going into the bookies. I know people will say you can self-exclude from the bookies but the nature of my job sees me in Inverness one week and Cornwall the next and everywhere in between so I don’t actually use a local bookies near my house to be honest.
These machines are popping up everywhere, Bookies obviously but also now pubs, hotel restaurants and motorway service stations to name a few.
My will power is absolutely terrible and I can’t help playing them wherever I am. I’ll stop at a service station for the toilet or a meal/snack and before I know it, I’ve stuck whatever’s in my pocket into these machines and end up going to the service station ATM machine (which charges you for your own money btw!!!) and am down about £50-150 before hitting the road again. Also a lot of my work finds me on busy high streets with 3-4 bookies within walking distance and I really really struggle to walk by without going in.
Anyone else face the same problems? And if so what did you do to overcome it.

Never played them never will. 2 pound to win 500 that is a rip-off. seeking help or counseling would be the first step, hard call to make to gamecare but it is worth it. I used to have a problem with fruit machines myself, had to admit I had a problem stopped playing them stupidly after I spent a friends money on one. then it went to like a tenner a time and now I just CBA with them, online or off bore me to play but I can watch others play them and fell zero desire to play. I also made a promise that I would not go back to that lifestyle to my dog and best friend on his death bed. I can’t break that promise. that was in 2016 and I have not touched one since. lost enough of my life to flashy lights.
you simply have to face the fact your an addict and have to find the will power to just think why am I being a mug and giving my money away..
a gambler knows when to stop an addict does not, an addict sees money as gambling chips a gambler does not.
mention to your bank that your an addict they will then no doubt offer restrictions on your account and a card that cant be used to gamble .

it is one day at a time and the hardest part apart from telling everyone you’re an addict and the phone call or calls to ga or gc is avoiding going into a betting shop, the first time you don’t go into the shop to gamble you will feel like you are climbing the walls , but as the days pass it becomes easier .may also be a good idea to have a family member issue the money you need daily from your bank account if your bank cant put limits on it ..

Can you try not to carry too much cash with you or just take enough for food/drinks etc and leave your card at home??…. The temptation usually comes for me when I’m actually “in situ” so if I haven’t got any cash, I literally can’t gamble.
Its a tough one bud, you obviously know you’re going to be tempted so the trick is, in my opinion, is when the temptation/urge strikes, be preprepared by literally not be able to succumb to the urges

Back when i was playing… monty python and holy grail was great.
The first game i ever got addicted to was a 5 quid jackpot called lucky strike or something? You got the board with numbers, collect 4 for bonus, reach 9 for board. Go around the board and it usually died first press, but you collect either nudges, cash strikes, or win spins or features i think or something else. Cant remember it for sure but i loved that game. “Crazy cash” was 2nd to top feature, always paid more than JPK repeater.
I remember the machine you are on about name escapes me though, it would have been a barcrest though .had an im mode, yet some bloke always had to say” your invincible their mate” what gave it away was it the big flashing logo or the lights rotating around the board lol. one chav tried to “buy a board” off me err no ty.
Best game was spiker the biker. loved seeing people get a four first roll, then collecting 2 pounds lol( 4 to question mark first roll was im) . one guy used to hammer it full of money, me and a friend used to wait for him to go broke then jump on it. normally it would have been morally wrong to virtual rob the guy but he was a total cunt so we felt no guilt taking his 150 pounds out of the machine, the same guy always dumped his kid in play park for three hours then played the machine. wife caught him one day she was pised off, with good reason ..

phone bill is now £380 and have no clue how I’m going to pay for it, with deposit limits in place it’s still kinda easy to get carried away with this deposit method, safe to say I’ve phoned my network now and put a block on extra charges, lesson learned the hard way, thought I’d create a post and have a mode to make me feel a bit better, safe to say I’m now on a break for a few weeks in order to pay for it
Not gambling related, but I dialed a phone number for a legit company, thinking it was a normal number, not knowing said company charged like 49p a minute, in q for an hour, 38-minute phone call . expensive, all premium rate numbers, etc now blocked. don’t know how an official company can charge that ..

It isn’t actually being unreasonable though. the 30 seconds it takes to take the picture could stop you losing thousands of pounds.
unreasonable would be, kindly provide us with a copy of your passport, drivers license, 3 utility bills, a third government issued id, an original copy of your birth certificate, no scans the original that you have to POST. we will give you a week to send that sir, ty. if not you will forfeit the 30000 GBP you won today.
almost word for word the email I received from the virtual group casino some years ago, bear in mind I had told them I had no original birth certificate previous to this only a copy and getting the original would mean traveling to Burnley from barrow . they also knew as I had told them, that I had no photo id and I was in the process of buying it and it takes longer than a week to arrive.
the response back from them “how did you get a visa debit card without photo id” well I gave the bank my money to deposit then they gave me a card, you can’t get a bank account without id they tried to tell me, my response we need something as simple as a utility bill to open a bank account, your lying to me, sir, his response and exit live chat ..
Stupid idea but it stops fraud. in the unlikely scanrio, that the person being asked has either) stolen the id and used a stolen a credit card to register then your not very likely to want to send in a picture of yourself holding the evidence, or simp,y bought or made the id and used said id to launder money or steal money . how they propose to know the difference when someone has made the id with a fake picture I do not know.
You would think the DVLA or passport people would verify the photos of us to save all the bullshit we have to go through..
