So you’re signed up through gamstop, correct?

You decided to search for sites not on gamstop, found some and registered.

You then couldn’t self exclude so you played the games.

Were you playing in demo mode or have you lost thousands of pounds?

If it’s the former, clearly gambling still controls you since your go to activity when you couldn’t sleep was gambling. If it’s the latter, see previous sentence.

I think anyone could have (and has on here) told you that casinos not on gamstop are not fit for purpose, so the question on rtp is a moot one.

Hope you didn’t actually lose thousands though.

Yes only demo mode would never play at a casino not on gamstop with real cash heard a few horror stories and how hard it was to self exclude is a massive alarm bell and yes I have a gambling addiction I love playing the slots hence demo mode it would have been easy to deposit on the casinos but the self control was there

Fair enough 🙂 think demo mode would tempt me too much haha!

To the ‘I’m not paying my debts and they will go after 6 years’ group (I’ll come up with something more catchy.)

Source for the info below is from step change:

Mortgage shortfalls have a longer limitation period of twelve years for the money you borrowed (the ‘capital’), while the interest charged on this has a limitation period of six years

If the creditor has already obtained a court judgment or order before the limitation period passed the debt can never become statute-barred

Another option is don’t contact the creditor and hope that the limitation period ends before they start court action. We don’t recommend you take this approach. If a creditor hasn’t had any contact or payment from you for a long time they may start court action just before the limitation period ends. Ignoring a debt greatly increases the chances you’ll end up with a CCJ, decree or money judgment, which you may have been able to avoid by getting in touch with the creditor sooner.

“Anyway, next time you hit a big score, remember its mugs like me who’s life got destroyed to fund your nice little win. Do you think if there were no losers you’d still be winning?”

I had a little sympathy for your situation at various points until you said the nonsense I quoted above.

I gambled, lost money and got into debt. You have to deal with it. Stepchange were helpful, I’m paying off what I owe and still have a little left to enjoy life without gambling.

At no point during my losses did I think my life had been destroyed each time someone else won big. I didn’t blame other people.  You simply cannot blame others for what’s happened. The first step in this journey is most definitely acceptance. Accept that it’s your fault and that it’s up to you to find a solution, especially as the banks won’t help.

I would imagine that people don’t necessarily believe you because your posts are very elaborate and seem to have an excuse for everything that’s happened.

Obviously people here hope that you sort yourself out and it all ends well for you.

People have no issue with constructive criticism, but an incoherent rant with poorly reasoned arguments is quite the opposite of that!

I’m sure that the majority of viewers are aware that signing up through a streamer’s link will give the streamer a financial reward. It’s hardly a secret and many streamer’s make a point of saying exactly that.

Influencers on Instagram make money from people buying products they link in their bio. It’s the same thing. They make it clear it’s an add, which in turn makes people aware there is a financial gain for them. No different to streaming. (And people can have an addiction to online shopping/spending the same as gambling.)

Going off on a slight tangent, there needs to be an element of personal responsibility here also which you fail to cover. Gamstop has made it so easy for addicts to simply go cold turkey and not gamble. That’s what I’ve done. I months on there now, no gambling at all and I’ve kicked the addiction I was definitely developing. So it’s hardly a streamer’s fault if people refuse to take the steps they need.

Given the recent rise in streaming, you’d have to be pretty naive, deaf, blind or just plain stupid not to realise the financial gains.

As long as it’s made clear I can’t see the problem.

It’s a pretty trivial moan I’ll grant you that. Which for me is some light relief given the current state of things! But.i appreciate your point!

Vera and John are leaving the UK market I believe. Gets rid of that issue I guess. I notice the steamer in question has removed the casino from his offers now.

He says that there were a few things he wasn’t happy with as the reason for doing this.

I find this odd, as a scroll through his recent comments shows someone saying that it was a poor welcome offer etc, and his response pretty much inferred that he had put the t&cs next to the offer so deal with it.

Presumably the negative comments had nothing to do with it.

He has, by the way, removed all negative comments relating to the casino off his latest video. Took a cheeky screenshot whilst they were all there. (Little one had me up at 5, that’s my excuse for doing that!)

I like the streamer, in small, bitsized chunks, but his inability to deal with constructive criticism is borderline immature.

Stepchange were really good for me. Clearing debts with one affordable monthly payment, most companies froze interest and most leave you alone.

Would recommend giving them a call.

As an ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust, a teacher, someone who has been to Auschwitz and spent time talking to survivors I honestly cannot believe that there are people on here who say there are flaws and lies and it didn’t happen the way it was reported.

Read literally any respected history paper, any respected war historian’s accounts, hell, read any survivors accounts of what happened or better, speak to the remaining few.

Holocaust denial is a serious thing, Just Basics, you’re wrong on this one. Alternative facts wont work here. I’d quit whilst you’re behind to avoid serious offence. I’m with you on some stuff. But not this.

The idea is a good one. Guess it helps the reach a wider audience.

I just found it all a bit cringe. Almost like they were trying too hard.
