Maybe you answered this elsewhere and I’ll get to reading it as I make my way through the forum posts I’ve missed, but how do you find the new version of Reel King? I feel like I haven’t seen you win on it since they changed versions? I’d be super suspicious that they “nerfed” the gambles to stop your streak.
I’m sad to read that you are going to stop these threads. I’ve enjoyed them immensely. Still, I think it might be the right decision not just because of the trolls, but also to take some of the heat off from casinos that may be considering changes to the games as a way of thwarting your success.
In any event, you’re the only streamer I watch consistently and whose content I look for at regular intervals. I’m glad you’re around to entertain us!
I found myself constantly checking for an update all morning (I’m over the US, so ahead of you by 5 hours). I’m so glad I did. Totally worth the wait to see such an epic comeback! I’m very happy for you, but I’m also happy to hear you’re going to take a breather on some lower stakes for a few sessions. It would be easy to feel invincible after such a huge comeback, so safe is the way to go.
I can’t wait for your next $40K top, though…I live vicariously through you since I don’t have the bankroll to gamble at these stakes (nor do I have the mental composure to do so even if I had the cash).
It was a great ride that I’m sorry to see come to such an abrupt end. Of everything you’ve written here, I’m happiest to see that you and your wife together decided that enough was enough. That’s as responsible as you can be when it comes to gambling.
I’m looking forward to your next streak with bated breath!
Good to hear you pulled it out of the fire! I came right over after the video like everyone else.
I think showing videos like this is an important public service. Your discussions in the videos makes them even more informative. It shows a few important parts of the psychology of gambling that could help others be more insightful when examining their own behavior.
1. Over time, it’s easy to become desensitized to smaller wins. It’s a bit like taking drugs…the brain’s reward center needs more stimulation to produce the same chemical response. It takes larger wins to get the same buzz. That’s why taking a break can help call things down…it gives the body some time to recover. Also, it’s easy to compare old losses to current wins and feel unsatisfied
2. Big winnings can feel like the money isn’t truly yours. Instead, it can feel like you are playing with house money. When that happens, people are more inclined to take risk with the money rather than trying to protect it.
3. Slot machines are designed to stimulate this feeling. They use a kind of reward structure where you know the big hit is coming but don’t now when. That makes it easy to justify pressing the button continuously when you’re losing.
With that said, congratulations on the lucky run! Invest it wisely and enjoy ithe fun while it lasts.
