This thread will continue resurfacing for months even after the initial spike has eventually died down.
I’m not taking sides or giving any opinion on it but there are legal/advertising issues to be dealt with here that I’m sure we’ll hear more of in the coming months.
Now I’m not having a go at all, I agree the money is better off going to charity.
This is a purely a business/legal question for those in the know (in a lawyer, but nothing in this type of area).
Lets say I set up a site and said free £1m giveaway all you have to to do is join my site/group/subscribe or whatever. I now have several hundred thousand followers and attempt to monetise my channel – I.e going to advertisers to show them my huge following which I effectively created overnight but nonetheless is a real following of genuine members. I get an advertising deal and then cancel the draw to those that entered.
is there any regulation here ?
again, this is not a dig at what has happened here as I completely agree with the outcome, but it raises the above genuine question.
No, because you didn’t have to pay anything or buy anything to enter. You can’t sue someone for the loss of zero pence. Free draws are also not subject to any statutory regulation.
Thanks for the constructive reply, always enjoy your input on the forum.
Not that I disagree as I mentioned my own knowledge is limited but I’m sure there are still regulations around free draws and they catergorise them differently (I.e lottery/competition/raffle etc).
Again, I want to stress this is not specific to this completion but it is just a good example as a point of discussion. I appreciate no one has lost anything, but in the example I gave the person running the completion has gained from doing so by creating a following under false pretences.

1This reply has been reported for inappropriate content.
Whilst you’ve got your MP on the phone see if he can look into your RTP for you ?
Without knowing the casino and their licence details etc it’s tough to help mate – good luck though
Thanks for doing me a favour and just leaving the site, it’s genuinely appreciated.
Although I suspect that comment is just more bullshit and you’ll still be here posting 500 word essays every day.
ps. You talk about “debate” as if anyone else is allowed to have an opinion. It’s see it your way or get insulted so what’s the point. As the saying goes, don’t raise your voice, improve your argument.
Bye anyway ?
11This is utter drivel.
It’s like every few minutes another meaningless thought pops in to your head that you must write it down, although that being said given the length of your posts you presumably start writing the next one straight after posting.
I hope you do get banned, not for having an “unpopular opinion” as you call it, but just because your posting so many unconstructed and incoherent thoughts.
As for your comments to Haz, you have undoubtedly spent more time posting here than he has so there some irony in that, and to then criticise someone’s progress in what they are trying to achieve is just perplexing for what is meant to be a support community.
1Sorry to hear about your bad luck (after extremely good luck!).
despite previous posts, it’s not worth taking to court as they will defend and the cost will outweigh what you are trying to cover (I’m a lawyer FYI) and so better to go down complaint routes/ gambling commission etc as no cost to you and they are the experts in this area who can deal with such issues so I would start there.
Obviously as others have said it’s down to how much info was “wrong” and how badly it was wrong – i.e are we talking a typo postcode or a completely different name/address etc ?
Good luck though and keep us posted
The difference is that the rules and regulations over irresponsible were in place and abused so the “payouts” you refer to now are because they didn’t comply with existing rules at the time.
The casinos have gradually had tighter and tighter regulation about this sort of stuff, but it is still a far less regulated industry compared to financial markets, and even though new rules are being introduced in the gambling world they can never be applied retrospectively.
You will not see any claims against casinos/providers in the same way you have against payday lenders, I can guarantee you that.
As for the original post, I personally think it’s a complete waste of time and effort and I would be surprised if you get a response from 10% of the casinos complained too, and those few responses you do get won’t be positive.
16th September 2019 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Lil’ Devil Technical Analysis – Best Symbol on Be My Angel & Heartstopper etc #80224I could be wrong but I’m sure I saw nick slots get the heart as his symbol on a regular bonus when he was building the hearts on stream
Hadn’t even noticed that, just enjoy the video – what difference does it make ?
Not having a dig but some of the things people moan about really does amaze me.
1I understand your points but don’t you why you think it’s not legal.
hes playing a slot and uploading a video – makes no odds if it’s real or demo money in reality. Some people will think it does but it honestly doesn’t, it’s representative of the true slot if you choose to play to money and like all streamers he’s just in it to make quick easy cash like they all are, there are no exceptions that is the sole reason they all do it.
I don’t even like the guy but at least he posts regular content in exchange for his following.
Hi,
I am a lawyer and have a couple of points to make.
1. They 100% will not pursue or take any action beyond closing your account/banning you from their sites.
2. Whether it is illegal to keep it is debateable, it’s not as clear cut as people are stating. You have to keep it knowing it wasn’t yours. At first you didn’t notice the extra funds which is reasonable assuming you have a large bank balance and 1,500 could be added without you noticing. The argument is then that you managed your finances according to your bank balance and to have to pay back 1,500 you didn’t realise you had would cause you difficulty. They won’t want the Agro of taking it any further – there is an also an argument that you perhaps just assumed you had made two withdrawals given you play there regularly. There’s so much scope for ambiguity in something like this which is why I can be 100% sure they won’t pursue. Even if they reported it (which is the last thing they would do anyway) it wouldn’t even be looked at.
Your call what you do, but the decision is basically about whether you want to continue using that particular site.

good luck Bio, be great if you could do a vid !!!
Hi BenQ
so sorry to hear about your situation, but I can help advice on the money in your mums bank – I am a probate lawyer and deal with this stuff for a living.
so, lawfully mums account should be frozen – they would s so the moment you provide them with death certificate and even the bills won’t go out.
however, because of the small amount in there the bank will release it immediately without the need for any real formal requirements – I.e go into bank with you ID a death certificate, a copy of her will if there is one and they will make you sign some paperwork and release the funds – can’t say when you would get it but no longer Than 10 days.
If that’s too long, and the bank have not been notified she has died then the account is still active then yes you could access it yourself. It would be unlawful to do so but no one would actually bring any action against you over that amount so if you choose to do that don’t worry. You can then deal with her creditors later on as they will be used to waiting long times for payments when someone passes away (they will actually just pass everything over to a pretty friendly debt collector called Phillips and Cohen associates who specialise in collecting debts from estates when people die so they are pretty understanding)
only the estate is liable for the debt, and not you personally so they can’t come after you anyway and would most likely just write the debts off – as assuming your mum had no other assets you could just say the last £300 was used for funeral expenses and the estate insolvent and the will write off the debts.
hope this helps mate
