Dear Farahtrousers et al.
Was I right in how I was thinking of it, then? The Megaways and everything? Still not REALLY sure if I’ve got it!
Yours hopefully
Chris.
Dear IC.
Just read your lovely answer.
I see it – I think – I’m going away to think about that, try it out on a picture of a Vegas machine I’ve got and see when it makes sense to me (if brains were computers mine would be an Amstrad!)
Seriously – thanks for it. Follow up question – will tell you if I’ve got the idea or not – Megaways. Pretend you’re playing a Megaways slot on – just for argument’s sake – $50 per go. As the amount of Megaways changes every spin, the price per line would be changing every spin, am I right ? So wouldn’t FEWER lines of the same symbols pay more because the multiplier’s more per line? If you got LOTS of lines – I’ve seen, like, 3540 winlines, things like that – the multiplier would only be a fraction of a cent per line, no? As 50 / 3540 = 0.01412 (just Googled it!) that would be the multiplier per line? So why play megaways when the multiplier gets SMALLER the more winlines you have?
Brieftly back to FOBTs – British bookies terminals full of slots) because they’re the ones I have most experience of – they’re £2 per spin (Dunno if you’re American or not but think of it as $2 if you are, the question would be the same!) If there were 40 winlines, the win on each line would be multiplied by 5 pence or cents, am I right? As 40 lines, 5p (or cents) a line = £ (or $)2. So when you look at the paytable and it says a full winline of – for example – jacks is £5, you’d multiply that by 5 to get the amount you actually win? Next time I go into a bookies I’ll have to check that because I’d not thought of it like that before and I’m not sure if that’s what I’ve actually been getting!
Sorry if I’m being dumbass somewheres, I’m trying to understand all this mathematically rather than just shoving in notes and bashing buttons and I’ve never tried to understand things mathematically before – I’ve just shoved in notes and bashed buttons!
Yours head-scratchingly
Chris.
Sorry – it’s come through as a clickable link, not as the actual picture. Don’t know enough to know why. If you click on the link it’s still hilarious, though.
If someone explains to me how to upload pics. I’ll put it up here. I’ve tried clicking on ‘Insert Bigwin’ but can’t make it work. The pictures on Terabox, I’ve got the URL, I insert it in the Bigwin slot but I just get an empty white square with resizing handles. Doesn’t matter how big I make the square, the picture never shows up. It’s a .JPG – is it the wrong file format?
Yours puzzledly – hoping SOMEONE looks at the picture anyway – follow the link and double-click on the tiny image to make it screensized –
Chris.
This is for The Bandit, answering a question he asked on his latest video and pointing out a bug in this website!
Dear Bandit.
When you tried to play one of the games, Pyramidion, it came up with an error message and you asked what it meant. I’ve peered at it and it looks like an upstream error – it can’t connect to the actual game. The loading screen’s just a picture for the user to look at while waiting for the game to load, it doesn’t mean the game IS loading.
And there’s a bug in your website. Whenever I FIRST go to leave a post anywhere, it says ‘There is a problem with the site. One of the commands ‘Javacript’ isn’t recognised.’ Er – there’s an S missing, it should be ‘JavaScript!’ (except with the S in lower-case, I just capitalized it for effect.) If I click on the BACK button on the browser, THEN it works OK because it’s not calling the same routines and the spelling’s obviously right in the routines it is calling.
Nope, not a programmer, just love spelling! (I get ALL the weirdos here! The Bandit sighs.)
Yours respectfully
Chris.
Phew!! Congrats for walking away winning.
On a MICROSCOPIC scale compared to that, I’ve been down loads on machines with gambles, lost every gamble – and then from nowhere won a pile of gambles and walked off even – and it FEELS like winning, doing that!
Maybe I should know when to stop a little bit earlier……!!
Yours respectfully
Chris.
Dear Bandit.
First of all there’s a bug in the forum, on FireFox at least. When you open it up and try to do a post, it crashes saying ‘A protocol, javacript, wasn’t understood.’ That’s because that’s how you spelled it, you missed the ‘s’ out! If you then use the back arrow you can enter stuff on the forum but you have to open a reply, wait for the crash, then back-arrow to get back to the reply. Anyway. Ask me via E_mail if you want a picture of the crashed page or anything.
What I wanted to say is there’s slots you play where you say there’s no way to turn the music off so you have to be silent. There IS. You mute the tab, right-click on the top of the tab and choose ‘mute tab’. Then just dub your voice on top afterwards in retrospect, if you want to keep all your spontaneity you can use something like Audacity to record what you say as you say it – make sure you choose constant record – that’s not what it’s called but it’s what it does, I’ll look up th right name for you if you ask – so you end up with a sound-track, the sounds and gaps in the right places. Then you can use a free download called Handbrake to dub the audio on the video. If you wanted a bit of fun, don’t see why you couldn’t choose your own track to play on the slots’ bonuses, as you can’t use theirs. There’s LOADS of free public domain tracks out there, you could just choose one and loop it to fit if necessary.
Love your Reel King stuff. Had a go ONCE when I was utterly stoned and got the ladder to about 8 grand. Hit the hills with it and never wanted to put it back since, it’s all been spent on boring stuff like new computers so I’m still broke, just got a very nice PC and can have music lessons! Bor-ING, I know….
Yours respectfully. It’s ulrichburke at hotmail dot com if you want a pic. of the crashed page – it’s reproducible every time using Firefox anyway –
Chris.
